Or Pete could set him up on a an index linked Standing order with a loyalty scheme accruing discounts, although he'd now be due a refund although if he had just qualified for an extra 10% discount and this refund put him back under the qualifying line for that discount then Accy Clarets PLC UK division would have to invoice him for 10% extra on the 2 seats he's keeping, probably needs a terms of condition contract for all users.

Or Pete could just fill that seat with someone else and Boxy, having effectively and politely communicated his change of requirements, and friend could just pay on the coach as per usual.
