Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
Williams is 28 and never played in the prem, Mooy is 26 and hasn't either. I'd say Cork is a better signing than the pair of them and are either good enough to replace Hendrick or Westwood Petsonally I don't think so, And if Defour is onside which is looking more and more likely they aren't even fit to lace his boots.KRBFC wrote:Id have loved Danny Williams here, said so before he went there. Malone best LB in Championship last year. Id swap Mounie with Walters. Mooy another good signing.
Look at the players we are linked with and signing, they're all cheap options really. We even took Taylor over Robertson because he was cheaper.

Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
Personally quite happy with this signing. He is a better player than Lowton IMO and therefore improves our first 11 as well as the squad.
My only concern is he can be a bit hot headed on occasion.

Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
Why do you think that Williams and Mooy are better players than what we have ?
They both played for 2 teams who finished a long long way behind Burnley in the Championship. Neither have played in the Premier League.
Is Williams better than Hendrick ?
Mooy better than Defour or Cork ?

Will Sky Sports call him Burnsley?
Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
KRBFC - Are you ever happy about anything? Every post I see you are trying to pick holes and find the negatives in something.
The club aren't immune to criticism and i get that, but i get the feeling you'd be miffed at signing Messi and Ronaldo and have something to whinge about.

He would. They're both getting on and have no sell on valueBFC88 wrote:KRBFC - Are you ever happy about anything? Every post I see you are trying to pick holes and find the negatives in something.

Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
All our summer signings, with the exception of Taylor who is highly rated, are experienced Premier League players ready to step in, if any of the first eleven hit injuries/suspension, if we sign to many promising young players, what is the point of the development squad, Welcome to Burnley Phil.
Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
Messi has never played in the PL. There is very little difference between the bottom PL and top of the Championship. I'd have them both over Westwood, we missed Marneys bite and energy, Williams would have been an ideal replacement. Best player on the pitch in the Playoff final. Its all well and good being able to pass like Westwood but as a team we dont attempt to keep hold of the ball. I liked Cork in his loan spell, he will do a good job but I dont think he offers the ability of Mooy.RocketLawnChair wrote:Williams is 28 and never played in the prem, Mooy is 26 and hasn't either. Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
Ill be happy when we sign players to bolster the strength of the first 11. Like we did last year with Hendrick. So far we have been linked with no one worth over £10M. 2 derisory bids for Assombalonga aside. We chose to shop in the overpriced section but refuse to pay the fees.BFC88 wrote:KRBFC - Are you ever happy about anything? KRBFC, you keep banging on about Mooy - you obviously didn't watch the Confed cup this summer. He was made to look a League one player by every team he faced

Not being linked with someone doesn't mean we aren't bidding it just means the details aren't out in the open.

He's Australian, they're **** poor one individual isnt gonna change that. Ill judge him off more than 3 games. I dont think ive ever mentioned him before, you're thinking of CricketfieldC.Vegas Claret wrote:KRBFC, you keep banging on about Mooy - you obviously didn't watch the Confed cup this summer. Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
haha I judged him off seeing him on tv everytime Huddersfield played on tv, the championship final, the confed cup, the fact he's 27 and never got a look in at City and the fact that despite the fact you think he's a world beater he joined Huddersfield - not a Southampton or a WBA, Huddersfield !
Jose and Pep must be kicking themselves at missing out.

Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
So you think hes a League One player having watched him last year? So why has he gone to a PL club for £10M and not joined Basterds? I never said he was a top 4 PL standard, I said he'd be good here. Looks like your review of him is stupidly inaccurate.Vegas Claret wrote:haha I judged him off seeing him on tv everytime Huddersfield played on tv, the championship final, the confed cup, the fact he's 27 and never got a look in at City and the fact that despite the fact you think he's a world beater he joined Huddersfield - not a Southampton or a WBA, Huddersfield !

Great signing...will bring Lowton on a treat!
The end.
The end.
Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
Turn it any which way you like. I'm pretty sure that at Christmas there will be three sides in the bottom three. Do you think there still won;t be anyone with personnel or management issues?Winstonswhite wrote:I don't see any team either in the Premier already or coming up struggling with personnel or management whatsoever.

Burnley's signings look pretty solid to me. So you haven't broke the bank? Boohoo.com.

Definitely wasn't a League One player on Saturday was he? That first time crossfield pass on the volley was gorgeous.Vegas Claret wrote:KRBFC, you keep banging on about Mooy - you obviously didn't watch the Confed cup this summer. He was made to look a League one player by every team he faced

Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
I must have missed the part where he dominated the game and tore us apart. From memory my quote was about how he played in the Confed Cup in the summer and I'll stick by it. One great pass on saturday but other than that not much else. Defour was far betterKRBFC wrote:Definitely wasn't a League One player on Saturday was he? Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
I know that football is all about opinions, but for me the best player on the pitch on Saturday was Defour; the second-best was Mooy.Vegas Claret wrote:I must have missed the part where he dominated the game and tore us apart. Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
In relation to him not being good enough at PL level..... He quite clearly is good enough. I agree Defour was the best player on the pitch but Mooy was excellent.Vegas Claret wrote:I must have missed the part where he dominated the game and tore us apart. Defour was the best player on the pitch because of his defensive work.

Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
I too thought Mooy played well Saturday. He was definitely Huddersfields stand out player
Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
I fully agree; but also he is a superb passer of the ball. He is a quick-thinker, able to pick the right pass when in a tight situation. I can only think of 1 occasion on Saturday when he lost the ball, and even then he was put under pressure by the pass he received.Quickenthetempo wrote:Defour was the best player on the pitch because of his defensive work.

Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
my quote is clear as day so I'll just repost the same thing again - I quite clearly never mentioned his ability to play in the Premier League in any of my posts, I also said he's joining Huddersfield which in itself says alot.KRBFC wrote:In relation to him not being good enough at PL level..... Here's the quote, there is no way to interpret it incorrectly unless you have an agenda like Trump

Quite clearly you thought he wasn't good enough for PL level otherwise you wouldn't have quoted my comments about him being a good signing at PL level, not rocket science really.

Re: Bardsley signing to be confirmed tonight
On the flip side there have been players who've looked top quality in international cup competitions and then looked league 1 standard when playing in the PL.
Mooy is a good signing at Huddersfield where the manager and his team mates know him already and what he can do, he already had a year to settle in.
We will find out how good he is over the course of a full season in the PL and if he moves on next summer it would be interesting to see how long it takes him to settle in again.
