Heaton 6
Lowton 7
Mee 6
Tarkowski 5
Ward 7
Defour 8
Cork 8
Hendrick 7
Gudmundsson 6
Brady 7
Vokes 7

Excellent performance ruined by powderpuff finishing (0 out of 20 on target WTF??) and dreadfully weak defending at a crucial moment.

Tarkowski didnt do the John Terry (clean him out) or the Michael Keane (ease him aside and run off with the ball). He thought he could get away with trying to stay goalside but they are too strong at this level for that. He wasnt the only culprit though.

Wood has an easy entry to the side at this rate if he signs. A similar amount needs spending on a centre half leader. We are desparate for one. Ben and Tarky are adequate but both need a better player and leader alongside them.

The upside is that Cork, Defour and Hendrick look superb.

A lot to be optimistic about - especially now we have a midfield that compliment each other

I found that game incredibly frustrating. We looked so much better on the ball with Cork and Defour pulling the strings, but it became quite obvious we could have played all day and wouldn't have ever looked like scoring against a miserly WBA side.

Hopefully Wood can address the lack of a cutting edge we saw today and get down the sides of opposition CBs, because everything today was very central and very easy to defend against. Pace is also desperate needed, but we've been saying that for what seems like years now. Finally, another centre half is still as big a priority as ever.

Heaton 7
Lowton 5 sloppy mistake early on which he was lucky to get away with. Final ball was also poor
Ward 6 poor for the goal but ok generally
Mee 6 as above
Tarkowski 6 also poor for the goal. Lack of pace is a concern, he needs to read the game better to counter that.
Defour 8 really good performance, drove us on in the last 20 mins especially
Brady 5 still looks unfit to me. Looked to be struggling after about an hour
Hendrick 6 some poor decision making in the final third but solid enough
Cork 7 good performance.
JBG 6 a big like Hendrick
Vokes 7 thought he led the line quite well, although I'd like to see that chance around the 40th min again. Surprised it wasn't shown on MOTD.

As Dyche said there was a lot to be positive about today. We looked far more comfortable on the ball than at any stage last season.
A bit more clinical and a bit more composure in the final third and it would have been a comfortable win.

It's a funny old game. I felt like I'd been mugged coming off today. We had played very well but had once more been beaten by the wily old Pulis.

Heaton 6 He didn't have much to do TBH.
Lowton 6 Still coming to terms with not having Boyd in front of him.
Tarkowski 6 He will take time to settle into the pace of regular games but I for one think he will be a success.
Mee 7 Sir Benjamin had his customary good game and should have scored but for a blatant shirt pull.
Ward 6 Scared by the pace of Philips but was always available and seems to be getting a better understanding with Brady.
Gudmundsson 6 There is a very good player lurking beneath a slightly nervous exterior at present. He'll come good IMHO.
Defour 8 He's starting to look the part but having said that WBA did allow him lots of space.
Cork 8* MOM. Very composed and assured on the ball.
Hendrick 6 Not his best game but battles in the engine room and puts himself about.
Brady 6 Looks full of confidence and always available for the ball. It didn't quite come off today but starting to look a very astute signing.
Vokes 7 Led the line well against the customary tough WBA defenders.

My overall feeling today was that we snatched at our chances with so many going over the bar but with a tad more composure we would have won comfortably. It's a mark of how far we have progressed that we made the chance to miss against one of our bogey teams :?

Heaton 6

Lowton 6
Tarkowski 6
Mee 6
Ward 6

JBG 6
Cork 7
Defour 8
Hendrick 6
Brady 5

Vokes 6

Those headed chances Vokes, Mee and Walters missed were absolute sitters.

Heaton 7 - up until their goal he was a spectator.
Lowton 6 - almost let them in early on, not one of his better games going forward.
Mee 6 - should have done better for the goal. Should have got a tackle in and done more to stop Robson Kanu going forward before he scored.
Tarkowski 7 - not as guilty as Mee & Ward with the buildup to the goal. Thought he did ok.
Ward 6 - not one of his better games, especially with their goal. but after last weeks goal I'm not complaining too much..
Defour 9 - class act today, dyche not subbing him after 70 minutes is a big statement. He pushed us on later in the game when we needed some momentum.
Brady 6 - we saw glimpses of what he can do with the ball in the final third, but was too inconsistent for me. The free kick he took which hit their wall was especially frustrating.
Cork 8 - intelligent play, good range of passing. Linked up very well with Defour.
Hendrick 6 - lost his way in the final third, but was ok otherwise.
JBG 6 - same as above, not able to deliver a quality final ball more consistency is required.
Vokes 7 - did well for me today, had a couple of difficult chances which on another day may have been a different story.

The statistics for this game tell the story for me. Burnley had 20 shots on goal, but we didn't make Foster work too hard at all. That tells us that we needed a better quality of finishing. Apart from the goal, Heaton had nothing to do. That is frustrating. Concerned that our defence couldn't cope with a long punt upfield for their goal and that they had no answer to Robson Kanu's direct approach. Pulis did a job on us here and after the goal, they were masters in time wasting.

However there are positives. Cork and Defour are developing a good understanding and our approach play is quicker rather than laboured. Hopefully there is more to come on that front.

Some wonderful one touch passing in the midfield, unfortunately Tony Pulis was tactically superior.

Heaton 6

Lowton 6
Mee 7
Tarks 6
Ward 6

Brady 5 just don't see it in him
Defour 8
Cork 8 mom
Hendrick 7
JBG 5 personally would have brought Arfield on.
We need someone on the right wing
Vokes 7 Usual selfless performace.

We have come a long way in the last 5 years and there is plenty still to be done but the signs are there. WBA set up for a draw against us. What does that say about our progress?

Heaton 6
Lowton 7
Tarkowski 5 - for 2 many wayward long balls
Mee 7 - dominated
Ward 7
Gudmundsson 5
Defour 8 - we have a super 2
Cork 8 - we have a super 2
Hendrick 7 - just needs to get closer to Vokes
Brady 6
Vokes 6 - no one feeding off him

I thought we played very well with Cork and Defour obviously respecting each other's capability and enjoying themselves. Hendrick marauding and pretty tight at the back....except once. Should have won but finding it difficult to score against a very well marshalled defence. We don't play them every week.

Heaton 6 - Spectator until the goal. Only thing he was guilty of was trusting his defence to 'sort' Kanu which is why he was stuck on his line for the goal.

Lowton 6 - Got forwards but final ball wasnt great.
Tarkowski 6 - Last line who shouldnt have committed to Kanu so easily.
Mee 6 - Missed a sitter. Take Kanu out!
Ward 6 - I said, TAKE KANU OUT!

JBG 6 - Missed a good chance with another header.
Cork 7 - Him and Defour ran the midfield.
Defour 8 - Really stepped up and ran the show once they were down to 10. Free kick delivery was questionable occasionally.
Hendrick 6 - Another guilty of missing chances.
Brady 6 - Imperious one moment, kicked the ball straight out the next. I think we'll need to get used to that.

Vokes 6 - Missed a good chance. Not alone.

Match report - We missed our chances and got Pulis'd.

Never heard such a load of nonsense in my life. If he plays like he played yesterday all season he could play for any club in the league.
