The Ghanaian lad Acquah didnt get a permit turned down, Birmingham chose to pull the plug and turned their attention to Onazi the Nigerian, they will probably go back in for Acquah now.

That article only refers to the Nigerian having failed to get a work permit and also points out it is their 54th position over the last two years which has been taken into consideration. There is no suggestion that Afriyie Acquah can't get a work permit. From what I've read, the Birmingham press are expecting him to sign this week.

No work permit required for Mounie - he has dual nationality, Benin & France.
That was one reason I queried whether a work permit would be required - possible for him to have dual nationality with France.

Yeah I misread the article, I thought it indicated both had been turned down. Be interesting to see if the other lad get's one

international clearance required for anyone not English, makes you wonder how the Welsh teams get away with it considering they have their own leagues

International clearance has nothing to do with work permits.
Work Permits are issued by the Home Office.
International Clearance is required when a player, no matter what his nationality, moves from a club in one country to a club in another country and is dealt with between the two Football Associations. You cannot fail to get international clearance but some FAs take their time.

Burnley are keen on signing Ghana international Abdul Majeed Waris from French Ligue 2 side Lorient, according to Sky sources.
Sean Dyche wants to add more reinforcements to his summer signings, following their club record £15m signing of Chris Wood from Leeds.
Waris, 25, scored 10 goals in 36 appearances for Lorient last season as Lorient finished third-bottom in Ligue 1. They were relegated to the second tier following a play-off defeat to Troyes.
Waris, who has won 22 caps for Ghana and played at the 2014 World Cup, had spells in Sweden, Russia and Turkey with BK Hacken, Spartak Moscow and Trabzonspor respectively, while he also spent six months on loan at Valenciennes in 2014.
Waris would provide competition for Wood, who could make his Burnley debut in Wednesday's Carabao Cup derby clash with Blackpool.
Burnley suffered their first defeat of the season last Saturday when West Brom claimed a 1-0 win at Turf Moor, and afterwards Dyche insisted he wasn't concerned by his team's profligacy in front of goal.

Not convinced. The only thing clumsier than the finishing was the goalkeeping.

Only person who needs to be convinced is Dyche. Three other premier league teams supposedly after him hopefully suggests he has something to offer.

I can now understand the SD blueprint for this season.
The underlying factor is adaptability.
This type of player is key to our squad enabling an immediate transition between 4-5-1 and 4-4-2.
Whether its Musa or Waris it seems they are very similar types of players.
Waris is a striker that can play on either wing has pace to burn and as an added bonus he is a hard worker that tracks back.
In the 4-5-1 he would play on one of the wings providing the pace in that formation.
If required we can then revert to 4-4-2 and Waris basically plays in the Andre Gray role up front playing off Vokes or Wood.
It makes sense to add a player with pace who has the ability to be effective in both positions rather than a fast centre forward like Shane Long who doesn't give you the same versatility / adaptability.
With the Musa link being played down then it would seem Waris is the player SD wants in this key position(s)

Apparently Watford, Birmingham and Ourselves have all offered €10+
If he wants guaranreed first team football he'll probably choose Birmingham.
Depends if he has a taste for omlette.
