21:47 Burnley make improved offer for Abdul Majeed Waris
According to RMC, Burnley have made an improved offer of €10m plus bonuses for Abdul Majeed Waris. However, Lorient want €12m for the Ghanaian striker. This will go right down to the wire, if they are to sign the Lorient striker.

Further reports in France today say we agreed the fee late yesterday, but couldn't agree on the installment details.. Not sure what Sean will think if that's the case.
Re: New waris bid
Well we certainly didn't need another forward.

I'd say it was tough s**t if you wait until the final hours of the window.Grumps wrote:Further reports in France today say we agreed the fee late yesterday, but couldn't agree on the installment details.. Not sure what Sean will think if that's the case.
That is if we actually were intending to sign the fellow in the first place!
Re: New waris bid
Guess we went back in when the Lennon deal fell through, certainly looks like a position Sean wanted to fill, therfore I would think he will be disappointed not to have got one over the lineClaretEngineer wrote:I'd say it was tough s**t if you wait until the final hours of the window.

Re: New waris bid
If we're looking at Lorient we should really have a look at their young winger Denis Bouanga he scored 16 goals from the wing on loan at Tours last season.Back at Lorient this season he has 4 goals in 7 league games.Fast and skilful he's certainly gonna be picked up by a bigger club soon.
Re: New waris bid
CC - you could write for HITC but then again you sound a bit too well informed for that.

Re: New waris bid
People want a quick winger and a foreigner and then when we are linked with them they don't want them. I'd quite like this lad. He's quite small, quick and good at long shots. That's all I know. Sounds like a good bench option, especially as he's genuinely quick - some say quicker than Andre.

What for a guy who has scored one goal all season in the French second division and can't command a first team spot? I dont think so.Grumps wrote:French media reporting we've put new bid in last few minutes close to asking price
