Post by ClaretTim » Mon Oct 09, 2017 9:19 pm

Don't know the answer, but have we ever had more than 4 international players on the same pitch at the same time in an international match..Vokes, Hendrick, Ward and Brady all playing

No probs Tim and I was a bit ignorant with Ireland, I just had it in my head that only Wales could qualify. I totally didn't look at the tables properly. I'm glad Ireland won and we have more Burnley players next summer.

I have an idea: A thread where we raise money depending on how many times Burnley is mentioned!

Four in one team is a record for us - Long, Ward, Hendrick, Brady - and I don't think that's been beaten between two teams at any time.

I met a girl a few weeks ago in Leeds and we were chatting tonight on the phone.. I randomly came out with, "Vokes is coming on". I heard back "Who?" - it made me laugh. She's a Man U fan but had no clue who I was on about. Women can be so funny.

It has to be - 4 is certainly the record for one team (achieved this year for the first time). Prior to these Irish lads, the only time we've had three was in the 1960s with Alex Elder, Willie Irvine & Sammy Todd and more recently with Michael Duff, Steve Jones & Kyle Lafferty, both those groups Northern Ireland.
