Russell Brand
I read he's skint, after blowing £10 million. What a shame, eh. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I can't stand the guy. Comedian? Aye, ok.

Just promoting his new book that's all.

His definition of skint won't be the same as our definition of skint.

Went to see him live once, distinctly average. He's obviously an incredibly intelligent guy, with that mind for me he's wasted his life with idiocy.

These threads are often announcing the passing of someone. While I wouldn’t wish that on many people, this will do for me.

Re: Russell Brand
Personally I like the idea of a comedian having the intellect, the speed of thinking, and the ability to articulate to a standard 99% of the world cannot achieve, to be able to take on highly talented talk show hosts and journalists and provide full value.
I do agree he's at his best when he is in that live environment than anything canned/rehearsed

Re: Russell Brand
Publicity guff for his new book.
He's got a big expensive house and, I think, owns a company-so he'll have plenty of assets even if his income is down from the heights of when he did a few films.
Shame he's not proper skint though - he could see how much his former friends / hangers on would cough up for him out of their loyalty/admiration (and then pop down the food bank).
He was a fairly innovative comedian to begin with but has just become a rent-a-gob. I'll always associate him with the "prank" he pulled on the Sachs family with fellow used-to-have-some-talent J Ross.

I think you're in a minority claptrappers. He's on par with Paddy McGuiness.

Undeniably intelligent, so what was the Sachs thing all about? Badly misread peoples concept of humour there and just come across as a horrible individual. Jonathan Ross tagging along ruined himself too.

Re: Russell Brand
I don't mind him. I remember he once wrote a fantastic piece on addiction, so easy to read but intelligently written throughout.
I still think he was funniest/best when interviewing ravers on MTV Dancefloor Chart back whenever though and I think that was during his heroin phase too.

You'll notice that Ross gets him on every series of his chat show. It's pathetic.Saxoman wrote:Undeniably intelligent, so what was the Sachs thing all about? Badly misread peoples concept of humour there and just come across as a horrible individual. Jonathan Ross tagging along ruined himself too.

I've just dropped and broke my Russell Brand coffee mug. To add insult to injury I knocked into the table as well and my Paddy McGuinness plate fell off and smashed as well

Re: Russell Brand
How annoying does a person have to be before it is considered acceptable to publicly wish them dead?
This thread has the answers, apparently.

Away from chat show appearances, I think he’s quite insightful, interesting and quite funny.

Re: Russell Brand
He'll be about is skint as Mel B,http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... fonte.html i wouldn't mind being skint and having an 8 million dollar house to sell, don't think we'll be seeing any of these celebrities down the local food bank or benefits office soon, of course if one of them pops up in celebrity big bore then we will know they are desperate,i do have sympathy for the children who are caught up in situations like this, but little for celebrities who try and evade the taxman,it is amazing they appear able to afford plenty of lawyers who i'm guessing aren't getting paid the minimum wage for their time.

Re: Russell Brand
I think I recall him saying/boasting that he doesn't own his own house but rents, that's why he was involved in protests about housing issues.
Then reading that it's about 2-3k per month rent.
The Katie Perry question ? Gives Lukaku a run for his money apparently.
Always looks like he needs a bath though.
Horrible person, WTF was he doing at the Olympics ceremonies, Who the hell he thought he was a British icon FFS ?

Re: Russell Brand
Saw him on Sunday on Real Time. He came across as manic most of the time so I wonder if he may actually be bi-polar to some degree. Anyway the insufferably smug Bill Maher had no idea how to take him. Even so I thought he was quite entertaining. As for Paddy McGuiness, no comparison really. He has only just let go of Peter Kay's coat-tails.

There was a point where he went off on a rant and then the audience applauded it and i muttered to myself "you've no idea what he just said".Chobulous wrote:Saw him on Sunday on Real Time. I don't mind him. His stand-up is ok without being something i'd look for. He's obviously extremely intelligent and a capable thinker but he's someone I have to be in the mood for. Like Louis Spence. But I always imagine him to be one of those people who if we'd met would ask me questions about me in a manner that would cause me to question whether he was genuinely curious as to my life, or if he'd read How to Win Friends and Influence People and was practicing on me.

Re: Russell Brand
Lol there is a video of Brand online stood on top on a riot van naked before he was famous at some protest in London. He's not giving many a run for there money, unless it was an exceptionally cold day.HatfieldClaret wrote:The Katie Perry question ? Gives Lukaku a run for his money apparently.
