We'll beat or match most of the bottom half of the PL next season, no danger.

you are joking ?
Re: dyche it could all go wrong
This is the raw guts and commitment end of the season. Men stand up. We have men.

No chance, not unless there's a dramatic revision in approach and tactics.evensteadiereddie wrote:We'll beat or match most of the bottom half of the PL next season, no danger.
Re: dyche it could all go wrong
that's true, but you also need a proactive manager, Brighton and midds both used there squad , knockhart was brightons best player against us ,and yet he was left on the bench last night, keeping key players fresh is all part of man management, dyche stubborness to use a very good squad will very likely cost us promotion.

He's sticking to the same plan that worked two years ago. Look at Leicester - they don't go in for squad rotation and it's worked for them.

Spot on Spijed. We are right in the thick of the race and Leicester are top of PL without squad rotation. A result for both managers I would say.Spijed wrote:He's sticking to the same plan that worked two years ago. Look at Leicester - they don't go in for squad rotation and it's worked for them.
If we were rotating I am sure the complainers would carp about the lack of a settled team

Re: dyche it could all go wrong
I don't go in for squad rotation for the sake of it, but there does seem to be a reluctance to change things even when its warranted. Boyd has been shocking for most of the season but still gets picked every week, Arfield has played in fits and starts and Marney is a more than adequated replacement for Jones. Taylor, Hennings and, latterly, Barnes have all been effective subs but used far too sparingly. And what was the point of signing Lloyd Dyer?
Over the course of this season the new "mantra" seems to have become "we haven't played well but we've got a result and we're capable of playing much better." That's all well and good and it might yet see us through to promotion, but if we really are capable of playing much better, why haven't we proved it more often? Only in January when we were steam-rollering poor opposition did we really look like a promotion outfit. You have to say if we do come up short having looked nailed-on a few weeks ago, its simply because we haven't been good enough.

Leicester have used there squad much more than we have ,play fewer games, we have basically used eleven players for 40 games when we have used subs it's generally been for minutes .

But you've been saying that since October 2012 with your anti-Dyche posting - at least you are consistent.SkiptonClaret wrote:Really ? Certainly not played the best football, it's been fairly dire for large chunks of this season, I don't think even the most blinkered could deny that.

Aren't they still bottom of the list when it comes to players used in the PL?claretfan wrote:Leicester have used there squad much more than we have ,play fewer games, we have basically used eleven players for 40 games when we have used subs it's generally been for minutes .

Re: dyche it could all go wrong
The football's been great to watch this season; it must have been 'cos we've scored more goals than anyone else.
Dyche is beyond reproach and his tactics, selections and subs should NEVER be questioned.
We are definitely going to be promoted.
When we're in the Prem, we're going to batter all the teams in the lower half.
There.
Everyone happy now?

Re: dyche it could all go wrong
I really to get the various comments, there's no way anyone could have watched ourselves this year and not thought we needed a change of personnel, the Boyd loyalty is beyond belief, yes bye god he runs purely because his positional sense is particularly poor and because we have to accommodate him we play so narrow just look when we take a goal kick. In terms of substitutions it gives a lift to the team and fans alike and we've really needed that at times. Yes we are doing great but we should be out of of sight with a little more vision, less stubbornness and a plan B.

Well we did blow our chances of promotion and I've had enough of this Championship relegation battle now.
Saturday's result topped off a miserable 12 months for our club.
