I have been very impressed by Newcastle, who have been doing much better than I have been predicting they will.
Much like Burnley, the Magpies are well organised and well drilled, and are difficult to beat.
This game is going to be very close, but I am backing Newcastle to come out on top - just.
I'm pretty sure we'd be bottom 3 based on his predictions

I'm also pretty sure a computer random generator would do better than his predictions over a season.

Probably! I've just seen how the table would look based on his predictions. We'd be 13th with 8 points. United and Tottenham would still be unbeaten in 1st and 3rd respectively. Huddersfield would be bottom with 3 points.

To be fair to him he's been complimentary and a prediction of 13th at this point would not have been unreasonable without the benefit of hindsight. Gladly Dyche is doing such a good job and has exceeded many people's expectations so far. It's often hard to predict results in the PL.

Yeah, he has said some good things about us this season and last to be fair. It seems he predicts us to lose every week but it's obviously not quite as bad as that having seen the table based on his predictions.

I think Liverpool are on something like a 50 game unbeaten run in his predictions. Bizarre stuff.

it will be a very tough game for us, Newcastle are playing some good stuff at the moment. Benitez is doing a good job with them, we will need to be on top form imho

It became a much tougher game for us when coupled with our lack of a cutting edge at home, we found ourselves possibly without either of our two first choice strikers and if either of them does play they may well not be fully fit.

There's a lot of folk on here who have Burnley on a 50 game unbeaten run if you followed their predictions. Its hardly bizarre for people to be overly optimistic about their teams chances and whilst it is blinkered its a common trait among a lot of football fans

Yep but ain't supposed to work for the BBC on an impartial basis ?
Yes Liverpool are his team but would any Liverpool fan think worse of him if he just gave some more realistic predictions for his team ?
More importantly how does this bloke still hold down a job with the BBC ? His miserable "glass half empty" style is so tedious. He dressses like a tramp and can't even be arsed to shave most of the time.
I reckon he's got something on the bosses - caught em with their pants down in Shepherd's Bush back in the day !

Well he's also said he was an Arsenal fan multiple times. Its not that serious either way, I thought he was an Arsenal fan, if he's changed team then I'm wrong. I wasn't being a d***, I was merely correcting your initial statement to what I believed to be factual.

Come on this section is just a bit of celebrity fun so if there is any part of his role as a football pundit on the BBC where we he can be a Liverpool fan this must be it
Whether he is a miserable boring awful pundit is another matter i might agree with but making a big deal on here about him thinking Newcastle will beat Burnley and always thinking Liverpool will win says more about state of some posters on here than it does about Lawro

We'll have to disagree and it depends on what you term a lot but im my opinion and from my experience a lot of optimistic fans go into every game predicting their team will win.
Im not convinced Lawro has really predicted Liverpool to win the last 50 games but you seem happy to accept that on face value and besides the original point was about Lawro being biased in his predictions to the team he supports and my response was showing that is the exact behavour of a lot Burnley fans on here and football fans in general

I genuinely couldn't give a f**k what Lawro predicts and I've mentioned nothing about his predictions for Liverpool over the last 50 games.

I'm not making a big deal about it - I agree with him about Monday night as it happens. So do the bookmakers. It's not an outrageous prediction at all. Other than Liverpool predictions I think his predictions usually make sense

Must admit generally speaking there as too often been people moaning about what pundits and the media says and predicts about is, suggesting that they are all against. Chip on the shoulder stuff if you like. Some people really do think that no one likes us but they really do care.

Whilst KRBFC does of course talk sh!tr most of the time, I have to back him up on this one. Certainly earlier in his career Jimmy always said he was an Arsenal fan. It’s only since we’ve been in and around the Prem that he seems to have discovered an affinity with his home town club.

Apparently I'm a prick and talk shyte for re-repeating what Jimmy has said himself in many interviews (that he's an Arsenal fan). Some people just love to argue

The folk on here aren't paid via our licence fees to make predictions every week, to be fair. Lawrenson is a Preston fan anyway.

I've no idea whether or not Jimmy Anderson is a Burnley fan, but I would be very surprised if he isn't. I know for a fact that his Dad and Uncles are big Burnley fans and always have been. Seems likely that he will of followed suit.

He could have season tickets for both.

I see he predicts a Southampton win today as well
I suppose if he just keeps going for a Burnley loss, he'll get it right eventually

Not unreasonable for Lawro to predict a Southampton victory. Most neutrals would go for a home win today, which is reflected in the betting markets - can get 6/1 on Burnley to win. Might have some of that.
