So if a young girl dies of cancer does not touch you nothing will
So your a hard guy that means others pain an suffering does not touch you.

I'm not a hard guy. I'm a mum of 3 and a grandma of 3. I donate every single year.
You are trying to turn it into a political point - don't lecture me on showing compassion.

I'm no fan of Corbyn but that's a truly bizarre thing to say that demeans you, not him.Lowbankclaret wrote:We are sat here crying at celebrity gogglebox.

Even setting aside that there's no 'normal' response to that, I imagine he (like any other senior politician of any party) has had to deal with so much sh1t like that and much worse (I.e. not just the awful vagaries of chance but deliberate human action) that you have to be able to take these things on board without ending up in tears every time something sad comes in front of you.

Not sure why I am the one being attacked.
I cried at the programme, felt really upset for the little girl.
Cloughy was not touched by it.
And I am the bad guy.

Re: Celebrity gogglebox
Globally, around 8.2m people die of cancer every year. This averages at 22,465 people every day. Using a medicinal pipette as a reference point, a teardrop can reasonably be assumed to have a volume of around 0.05 ml. Assuming a person sheds but a single tear (the heartless monster) for every singe person who dies of cancer every single day, this person would need to consume 1123+2 litres of water per day merely to stay hydrated.
This is also knows as death by water poisoning.

Not crying doesn’t mean that someone isn’t ‘touched by it’. I think you know that already though.Lowbankclaret wrote:Not sure why I am the one being attacked.

I know you're not exactly Lancashire's answer to Einstein, Lowbank, but I didn't realise you were that big a cretin.

Re: Celebrity gogglebox
What an utterly bizarre thread! I’ve been to funerals and seen people not cry does that mean they have no feelings Lowbank?
Re: Celebrity gogglebox
You've had a shocker there Lowbank !
To be fair though I did say to my wife and daughter whilst watching it that Corbyn appears to be very emotionless. And I'm a Corbyn supporter.
Jessica Hines sat next to him was either crying or pi-ssing herself laughing all the way through and JC hardly raised an eyebrow either way - it was kind of strange.
We all know these politicians go on these kind of programmes to improve the public perception of them - but really they can't win as if he would have started crying he would have been 100% criticised by some for faking it. My advice would be to stay well clear as very rarely does it work out for any of them.
He can show his support for the charity in plenty of other ways without going on gogglebox.

I still can't believe he got the question about the Punic Wars wrong. There's no way he's fit for High Office after that faux pas.

Yep looks like a real shocker from me yesterday.
I will put that down to a 12 hour day and the wine going down too quick.
Apologies to anyone I offended.

What he was doing on there is the question, not how he reacted.
