The disheartening thing is looking at the B'pool forums.

A lot of fans saying that since the Oystens ripped heart outa the club and they have been boycotting - they have found other passtimes now and will not likely be supporting the club as they once did.

Even with the Oystens gone from B'pool it seems the damage has already been done.

They won't get near the attendances of a few years ago with the loss of fair weather fans anyway you'd think. They had around 4k on in their past lower league days and it'll probably be around that amount again now I'm guessing - they have around 2k now with the boycott.

Blackpool fc is a name with a training ground I understand that the Oystons own Bloomfield road lock stock and barrel. If they want they can turn it into a shopping complex to sell or just sell it now as it is with pp for a shopping complex. An investor might buy it and rent it to Blackpool fc but how much would the rent be ? No winners.

It's dreadful what's gone at Blackpool and a number of other clubs in recent years with the owners. Interestingly, the mess at clubs with owners is usually down to foreign owners and not ones who have been in charge of their club for nigh on 20 years.

What the Blackpool fans have had to deal with is absolutely disgraceful and if they get something positive out of this then we should all be really pleased for them.

Unfortunately a lot of clubs are run by people of dubious reputation .The football league checks about fair and proper owners are a complete joke with a variety of foreign businessman looking to "invest" in football clubs and then sell on for profit.
In Blackpools case it was local owners who caused problems and alienated the fans.
I doubt the ground and it's environs especially in a dump like Blackpool South shore is worth anything like £31m.
It begs the perennial question though.What did the Oystons do with the large amounts earned by Ollie and his promotion winning team.
That's a point that Karl Oyston and his family have not fully answered .
The Lashers deserve better than these chancers running their club but I doubt they'll shift the Oystons.

An interesting read in the Blackpool gazette -

After further discussion in court the judge ruled that a “financial buy-out” was the appropriate course following his findings. The judge ordered the buy-out jointly against Blackpool Football Club (Properties) Ltd, a company with Oyston family links formerly known as Segesta, and Owen Oyston and Karl Oyston, but not against the football club itself. How the Oyston family intend to pay the huge bill remains to be seen. The judge refused the Oystons’ right to appeal but they are likely to take their case to the Court of Appeal instead. Justice Smith ordered the Oystons to pay £10m to Belokon within 28 days; their assets to be frozen while a timetable for the full amount was decided. The Oystons’ £26.77m payments to their own companies was described by the judge as “illegitimate stripping of Blackpool FC”.

Nowadays, you cannot just develop on a sports ground/ pitch. A replacement equivalent has to be provided.

If the 2004 wasn't included, it would disqualify Shaun Harvey the chief exec of the league who was involved in insolvency at both Bradford City and Leeds.
