Why on earth to Watford run out to Z cars theme time.
Iconic cop series from the sixties set in Kirkby .
Do they have a Scouse pa man.
Ok for Everton as it's about 6 miles from Goodison to Kirkby.

Re: Watfords run out tune
Apparently, it was the choice of Bill McGarry, their manager in the 1960s

You'd have thought they'd have preferred Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

Re: Watfords run out tune
Back in the 1960s, the then Watford manager Billy McGarry was at a match at Goodison Park and liked the Z Cars theme. He went back to Watford and asked for it to be played there and it has been now for well over 50 years.Woodleyclaret wrote:Why on earth to Watford run out to Z cars theme time.
EDIT: Just seen Sheffield Claret's post.

Went in the Johnny Todd pub in Kirkby with my Everton supporting mate after the game at Goodison Park in 1973. He told me there was usually an ambulance parked outside from about 10 o'clock onwards. I laughed, he didn't and there was. Those were the days.LeadBelly wrote:Johnny Todd had the notion.
