Atmosphere

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Sun Nov 26, 2017 3:01 pm

That first half was electric in cfs. As good as ive seen in years. Even got a normal paced sean dyche claret n blue army as he left.

Great first half all round.

Good to hear. They need 16 pts from 26 games to stay up. :D

The pressures off, just get behind the clarets and enjoy the season. Lets have a memoriable top half finish.

Agree atmosphere was great.

Was nice to see us singing mostly about Burnley and our players too.

Arsenal meanwhile made no noise until they had won. Dicks

They only sing 'Arsenal'. They must have short memories so can't learn anything longer.

What was that weird Gunners chant? Looked a bit heated at full time in CFS.

Great atmosphere in the CFS yesterday.
Left all who were there under no illusion
1. How proud the fans were of the players performance
2. How bad the referee was with his one-eyed decisions across the 90 mins

Shame it takes a poor refereee and a big performance against one of the big boys to get there....but a Turf Moor crowd at our best.

Great atmosphere especially the booing for 5 minutes. Could feel the passion coming out the stands.

I love Turf Moor when it’s an intimidating atmosphere.

And look where Sean is-off to get a bucket of ice to cool off before the press interview.
The fact that the temperature went up 2 degrees at the time of the final whistle has been put down to an exothermic reaction from our manager.

Proud to be a Claret.
The reaction at the end was deserved for the players performance.Turf Moor at its best yesterday, Sunday games aren’t normally like that.

Not sure what the rest of the round was like but the cricketfield was certainly up for it yesterday

The continuous whistling & booing after mason's exaggerated "he got the ball" smuggery was brilliant.
Turf Moor at its snarling, defiant best

That was absolutely fantastic. Loud and clear on my stream. The commentators stopped talking when they realised it wasn't going to subside.

aye he got the ball and most of JBG.

But imagine if that was Arsenal on the break, all of our team would have been sent off and 10-0 and thirty points win for Arsenal.

A right footer should have taken that free kick.

Brady practically gave Cech the ball.

Shame that on that occasion at least the decision was spot-on. You do wonder if that sort of hostility can engender a “f**k you” attitude in a ref like Mason.

Would like to see a bit more variation in the free kicks with Defour And Gudmonson having a go

Completely agree. Most of Brady's free kicks are poor unless he's going for goal in which case they're excellent.

It probably did - but if that can affect a ref then we're screwed anyway. Was throwbacks to how I remember the turf being when I was growing up ... Loud and intimidating and abusive to away team and supportive of the home side.

Loves that right at the end the Arsenal players got dogs abuse and then every fan left applauded the home team off the pitch. Arsenal players were visibly shocked walking off the pitch not knowing where to look so that atmosphere must affect them during a game. Only Ramsey "gave it back" after trying to force a fake laugh and then shouting "f you" etc back as he got right to the tunnel.

Aye well with a bit of luck -none of which we got yesterday - Ramsey might get a retrospective ban for simulation. This according to J Barton on talksport who also said, quite rightly, had that incident been at the other end no penalty would hsve been given. Mason is an A1pr!ck.

It was fantastic yesterday, all the ingredients were there. I am not disapointed with the result as between the way we played and the immense atmosphere, you can feel nothing but pride.

More than Ramsay gave it back if you count them sarcastically applauding our fans.

I prefer to spend my time splitting infinitives, "slyly pretending" to support a football team - but only when they are doing reasonably well in a lower league of course. ;)

On behalf of all Clarets, just fc uk off you utter bell wipe.

Atmosphere was great yesterday; was reminiscent of days gone by, had a real, raw nasty edge to it. The Arsenal players, ah bless 'em, really did look shocked as they walked off.

They tried to as they saw us but once they got the "CFS treatment" they all just wanted to get down the tunnel. No away team should enjoy coming to Turf Moor. It's almost like the old American Football speeches managers give before bug games "NOBODY COMES TO OUR HOUSE AND TAKES LIBERTIES"

So let me take you there,
And soon we'll be dancing in the cool night air.

I sit in the JHU, just beyond halfway on the side nearest to the CFS. We have been struggling for the last season and a half to get anything going up there. A few of the long term season tickets holders remain in place and we have tried. The newer fans are very reluctant. They tend to be of an older generation. They look like the stereotypical fan assumed to sit in the Bob Lord. There are some committed supporters up there but it had reached the stage that the singers amongst us were sat on our hands because it felt futile.

Sunday was different. The long term fans sang regardless of the response of the recent influx. We managed to get it going. We couldn't hear the CFS at times. We were on it prior to Mason acting up. What I am sure about, is that Mason and the Arsenal players knew exactly what we thought of them. It was hostile for the first time in ages. I am hoping it marks the point at which we find our voice again.

Not all of the CFS sound carries across but you guys need to slow down. We could do with getting some songs bouncing between us, like at Marseille. We need to give Dyche and the lads the backing that they deserve.

Watching the highlights on Sky the fans sounded it good voice. I still find it strange listening to ‘No One Likes Us’ from a Burnley contingent that sounds like it’s from Oxford. :)
