Man U also now sold out. Got one this time though. Great points system we have!

Yes I believe Ivan runs a tight ship, his knowledge on ferrets is fantastic.houseboy wrote:The terms Burnley FC and glory hunter are not natural bed-mates in the real world are they and as for dragging himself back maybe he can't afford the high house prices in Burnley. I believe his uncle Ivan (known as Ivan [the ferret] Ivanovich) needs him to keep the family business going as the whole family will starve if he leaves. Just how much sacrifice do you want people to make for the club? And is the BAPFB affiliated in any way to the GADAFI (Garstang and District Associated Ferret Inseminators)?
As for the GADAFI, they have a lot to answer for.
We are due over Garstang way for a demo in a few weeks regarding their methods of insemination, and the subsequent disposal of such wonderful animals. I've tied it in with a planned windsurfing trip I had booked, to save on petrol costs.
If you want, you're more than welcome to come to either event, and that goes to all Clarets, we are always looking for more members.
It really would top of a fantastic year for the BAPFB if we could get another 7 or 8 members to get into double figures.
They'll be a free car sticker and pen for any new member signed up on the day.

Huddersfield have done what we did and put some of their fans in the 'away'end.

A muchness of bleating I hear!
Priority tickets should be given to
A Person or persons aged over 40
B Born in the Edith Watson ward with a clear view of the Turf Moor floodlights ala cockneys and bow bells. Or for the older generation born at home.
C Is a proper fan and attended matches circa 1987 and can prove it
D Male
E Lives and works in the Burnley and Pendle area and didn't recklessly abandon their hometown in favour of riches and greed.

Bet they take a fair few yes..
Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
The supporters club have been taking fans for decades.. By the way I'm not a member of any of them.. I've been on the turf home and away games for decades, but I don't have 5000 points as I have lived away from Burnley for last 8 years so not had a season ticket until I moved back up north. Does that mean I'm entitled to a ticket? No have to play by the rules unfortunately. But I will be there some how.

We don't have this issue for 17 games a season, but the supporters clubs go every week not twice a season.
I think the fans missing out won't be the ones who have been on all the other away games this season, it'll be the fans that pick and choose maybe a couple of away games a season...

Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
Right Sheedy lets work it out with fag packet type numbers.
Accy usually take 2 coaches
Supporters club 1
Boundary Clarets 1
Rossy 1 to a handful of games I think.
Earby/Barlick/Barrowford same as Rossy.
So 300 for easy working out purposes. Say half will get their own tickets so they get the loyalty points.
Down to 150.
Half won't be regulars so supporters clubs won't risk them not turning up/paying etc.
Down to 75.
Not enough to get your knickers in a twist is it?

I would like it changed but only because this way it will prevent my kids having enough points to go away if there's demand. They're being punished for being born later than the 5k brigade.Sheedyclaret wrote:I disagree the away ticketing is a shambles and needs overhauling..

Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
The ticket office have deleted a load of my points by their own admittance (I should have 7000) so I am just below the 5000 mark.
Just arrived in from Bournemouth and read this thread.
I can't get to the Turf during the week to queue for tickets so I joined the Foundation Club last season as an additional way of trying to get a ticket. The phone was constantly engaged from 9am until they sold out of both Utd and Huddersfield tickets. I have missed only the Spurs away game so far this season so it does feel a little annoying not to be able to get to Huddersfield.
I would even have walked it at 4mph from Accrington.

Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
Good sign when the ticket office is getting grief, only happens once every five years or so. I've found them pretty useful in recent seasons.
I'm only a casual away fan, local games etc so I'm in the 3,000 points bracket. I've never been unable to get a ticket, and for Huddersfield fortunately managed to sort a home end ticket through a work connection. I'd feel a bit guilty if I'd got one through the club, there must be thousands of fans who follow us away more than I do.

Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
Have to admit I'm a little ****** off about all these season ticket holders suddenly deciding they fancy doing a few away games. Have been up to Boro and Hull in recent times for Boxing Day games and we've barely had 2000 there.

I'm not fussed about the elite points brigade getting tickets - what does annoy me is when a match sells out and there are people there in the away end who have clearly never been to a Burnley match and have no allegiances to Burnley...... How do these people get tickets?
Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
Yeah was really simple wasn't it online system crashed after about an hour and unless you were at ticket office first thing on a weekday morning you didn't get one.Rileybobs wrote:To be fair you could have always bought your tickets before they did.

People with enough points letting other people use their Clarets numbers? Or buying tickets for mates who are just there for a day out on beer? Always annoyed me this but don't see how it can be prevented unfortunately.

People are annoyed with the Supporters clubs, but I’m not at all. They travel all over the country, and to be honest I’ve used them loads in the past (going back a few years) and not received the points for all those games. The truly committed fans amongst them would likely have far more points than any of the complainers were they to receive their rightful points for the games they’ve attended.
I don’t see people complaining for game tickets at Southampton etc, which tells you everything about the timing of the Huddersfield and United games.

Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
It does appear that the club dish out tickets to the people who organise the supporters club travel, who then pass the tickets on to their mates, who travel on the busses regularly.
This is not always fair, has sometimes the tickets are then passed down the line to people who are not even season ticket holders. Thus fans who have 5000 pts plus are missing out has in the case of the Huddersfield game.
I went on line at 6am Tuesday morning for the Huddersfield tickets and they were not on line, went back on at 5pm and they were sold out. I honestly believer that the club have handed out around 1000 tickets to the supporters clubs. Their is no way that if the point system was handled correctly, that the 5000 pts people took up the allocation in this short time.
It proves that the point system is totally farcical.

Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
Supporters clubs get them for regular travellers often with over 5k points. Most supporters clubs run through memberships so they could even just have one big friends and family list to get them online tickets together, with the bonus the supporter will get the points.Top Claret wrote:It does appear that the club dish out tickets to the people who organise the supporters club travel, who then pass the tickets on to their mates, who travel on the busses regularly.

It's a long time since I have seen 1000 Burnley fans travel by coach. About 18 coaches for reference.
Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
Supporters clubs get around 50 tickets on average to away games, maybe more if requested on larger allocations say 3000-5000 away fans allowed,so with all supporters clubs combined I would say no more than 350 and these are mainly fans that go to most away games, can be less if away allocation is reduced,I am telling you this from experience of going with these hard working people who organise away transport, and just to let you know I have 6000 points.

I get that happens but I have seen people who sound like they have never stepped foot in Lancashire - obviously have no interest in football (they've left at half time and spent the first half discussing some new film they've watched) and are there for a day out ..... I get how this could happen in the home ends as a "something different day out" but it's some serious effort by someone to get that ticket in a sold out away end - how do they get their tickets?jrgbfc wrote:

That’s not true, as I bought my tickets online at 5.10pm. It was well advertised that tickets went on sale at 5pm.Top Claret wrote:I went on line at 6am Tuesday morning for the Huddersfield tickets and they were not on line, went back on at 5pm and they were sold out. I missed Chelsea and Bournemouth last season due to a bit of complacency so I was well on top of these two games. I can't say i've ever seen it myself, player comps sounds plausible though.

Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
I started this thread. We just missed out. First time we've ever missed out. We all have well over 5000 PTS and have held season tickets for ages. My mate went home and found out his step brother, who doesn't have a season ticket , very rarely watches Burnley, and doesn't have any points, was booked on a coach which included a match ticket. That ,to us, is wrong.
End of winge. Haven't told the missus we're not going. Don't want to end up shopping!

We have missed out on Huddersfield tickets too, both have 5000 plus points, never missed getting what we want previously. Our own fault, came in from work, had tea, and whilst one of us did the washing up the other went on line.......such is life, and the fact that the Clarets are doing so fantastically well.

Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
May have been said before but let’s have an away season ticket which you have to pay say £100 for
This 100 could be reimbursed at £10 per away ticket bought so if you attend 10 games it’s cost you nothing
Then us regular away fans wouldn’t miss out on the bigger away games
As said earlier I don’t suppose I ll miss out on palace tickets

What you need is a council wallah on flexitime to queue up for you whilst you work to pay his wages.
Re: Huddersfield Sold Out
We had 4 lads with them big baseball caps and half n half scarves sat in front of us at Man U last season. Turned out to be Andre Gray's mates. A rather smartly dressed good looking lady turned up at 3.30, so probably a complementary too. No idea how we got them tickets, think they were player comps that were returned.
