Taylor has set up quite a few goals for Chris Wood in his time at Leeds. I'd throw him in and see how he does

There's been a fair bit of coverage this week about SD's diligence when looking for new signings, looks like he's still in favour of UK players, the research on non-UK targets still a bit tricky?
I think that's probably correct. If there's a UK based player on the radar, Dyche probably has a dozen contacts within the game who know the man and can give advice on what he's like in training, what he's like as a squad man, whether he'll graft and graft whether he's in the team or not, all the sort of stuff you can't get from watching him play. When he looks at a man who has played abroad, he doesn't have the "zero degrees of separation" contacts.

Brady's 30 minutes were as good as any 30 minutes I've seen from a Burnley player since I've been watching (early 70s). Gutted for him.

Once he went it was noticeable that our tempo dropped. Nothing against Scotty, but we had been pinging it around beautifully. It was like we suddenly had a bottle neck in our system.

Surely if it was a break then he would have had more oxygen?
Only just got in and having a look at the message board.

Imo unfortunately it's a season ender. It's very similar movement wise of the leg to the Gazza one back in the day (FA Cup final) where a miss timed swing at the ball has connected with an opponent buckling the leg outwards from the knee down.

I'm gutted tbh because he was coming to the boil nicely these last few weeks and we lost our fizz when he went off

Apart from the fact that Brady swung with his right and injured his left.

Terrible for the lad and us. He’s been in tremendous form.

The debate as to who will replace him is pretty moot. It’ll be Arfield, at least until the window.

There is no way he has broken a bone when he was stood in the tunnel with a brace on.

This is far more likely a ligament type injury which is by no means better news.

The Brady with the broken Tibula on Twitter is some American footballer

Even if he is out for a period of time, I just hope he comes back the same player. I have confidence he will as he is a tough guy, but there is always the risk that injury prevents a player from being his former self.

Dean Marney?

Alongside Cork and Defour

Hendrick out wide, Walters Wells might play a role too.

We have a decent squad and would rather try these guys before spending on an unknown emergency replacement

Whether or not Taylor is the man is up to SD and his team, none of us have seen enough of him to know.

All of above might be wrong but worth trying before we just throw cash at the problem. In any event we have a good number of games to play before any new player can play

Shame about Robbie was just showing his true form, however we at least have options now,and we should have the finances to buy in January if needed.
Wells and Marney should be able to play a part in the 2nd half of the season and Taylor is an option we know he has good delivery whether he can fit into the system may be an issue, but i'm sure Sean will find a solution.

If the only other alternative is Arfield then Taylor has to be worth a try for a game or two. He's always been a full back with a reputation for being better at going forward than defending and would help us keep our balance being a natural left sided player.

Having watched chef it back Sky it's his standing knee that's injured not the leg he kicked the opposing player with.

So it looks like ligaments as has been pointed out and Dyche says it's serious.

So Robbie's season will be over if that turns out to be correct.

Gutted for him and the team.

I fear the worst that it is ligaments. Probably Lateral or acl. Likely to be a couple of days to let swelling go down. If believed it could be a tweak
Although I'm told a lot of consultants now prefer to operate within 72 hours to stop swelling that occurs around the joint doing further damage to other areas.
Mind you the number of acl's we have dealt with over last 4-5 seasons he is arguably at the best club.
All the best Robbie Brady.

Watched the replay again today and it looks like his left kneecap was dislocated as he rolled over. Hoping that’s what it is compared to other potential issues.

No idea if he dislocated his knee. But if that turns out to be the case, knee dislocation often causes significant ligament damage.

I agree, which is why I hope it’s only his kneecap that dislocated, which would be a much quicker recovery

Players aren't usually in as much pain as Brady was when they do their ACL. Unless Brady is a wuss :D

Hoping it's something that might be more painful in the short term but doesn't involve the long road to recovery that ACL is

I dislocated my knee cap many years ago and I'm sorry to say that the lay off is quite extensive. Another poster has said that ligament damage is often a 'by-product' of a dislocation and I can confirm this too. It's Hobson's choice but I would venture a break is 'better' than an ACL or dislocation.

Are u kidding me? Defour,Cork and Hendrick in the midfield and you want Charlie Adam. He's definitely not a winger if that's what your thinking either.

Me too, but I had little ligament damage, hence my hope that if it is anything like that it is similar to what I did to mine. I was fine after about 6 weeks

All quiet on the Brady front

Post by kaptin1 » Tue Dec 05, 2017 12:42 pm

Unless I've missed it, then seems to have all gone a bit quiet about Brady's injury. I'm assuming if it was a simple break then we would have heard by now, which suggests it is more likely to be ligament / tendon damage for which they are waiting for the swelling to go down before they scan. Time will tell I suppose, but the longer we don't hear anything the worse I fear it is.

They're obviously waiting for conclusive reports.

It looked like a collapsed knee cap from the picture I saw.

I hope it's not bad for him though.

Collapsed knee cap - more or less serious than ACL damage?

Broken or dislocated Patella then? I originally thought dislocation when i saw the slow mo but part of me was trying to find positives in what looks like a bad injury.

According to NHS, it normally takes 6 weeks to recover from a dislocated kneecap but if there is ligament damage as well then it will obviously take longer. Also need to balance the fact that he will have better medical care than most but ultimately needs the knee to stand up to more stresses and strains than most. That is if it is a dislocated knee cap, of course.

You’d imagine there’s been some sort of break or dislocation as part of the injury. Ligament injuries alone don’t tend to require several nights in hospital.
