Phil Bardsley
What a solid player he is. No nonsense but pretty good going forwards also.
Hes strong aerially and on the deck and takes no nonsesne. His game management is great too. Knows when to lump it, when to hold or pass it.
Best thing today though, Mee gave away a late corner. Which he was clearly disappointed with. Bardsley ran over, slapped him on the back and told him to keep his head. We cleared the corner with ease. Think may have actually been Mee who cleared.
Remarkable we have a player of his calibre to come in. Hoping walters is the same when hes fit.
Lowton will have a job on at this rate.

To think some people on here weren't happy when we signed another Stoke cast off who apparently wasn't good enough for the PL anymore

A good solid player,we didn't have such quality back up last year and that makes a massive difference.cricketfieldclarets wrote:What a solid player he is. No nonsense but pretty good going forwards also.

Re: Phil Bardsley
After watching MOTD i'm sure Stoke would have him back in a heart beat.
Strong, skilful, physical and a very experienced premier league player.
So far he has won the physical and psychological battle against his direct opponent. Richarlison is still in his pocket.
Bargain at 750k.

Re: Phil Bardsley
Fabulous header off the line.
As you say, various plankton on here were lining up to slag off his signing.
Stoke'd have him back (just what they need) and Swansea would have Cork back in a heartbeat.(whatever that prat Clement says)
Brilliant acquisitions.

Good post, been really impressed by him and seems a good pro / guy to have around. Think he might have a sending off and pen give-away in him, but very solid and faster than I expected.cricketfieldclarets wrote:What a solid player he is. No nonsense but pretty good going forwards also.

Don't get it when folk complain at this sort of signing- or get on guys like Arfield's back. The squad is key, not the 11. How we have coped with these injuries is what's keeping this incredible season going- having guys like Arfield, Long, Pope and Bardsley around who don't rock the boat and then come in and perform is the difference between doing what we are doing and the season falling apart / getting relegated.
Amazing times.

Re: Phil Bardsley
Clement didn't want to sell him, the owners thought it was a good offer from us and made the decision - Clement has said this on numerous occasionsElectroClaret wrote:Fabulous header off the line.

Re: Phil Bardsley
He's a formidable competitor and obviously buys into the SD way. Lowton will have to bide his time to get his place back and rightly so, because Bardsley deserves his chance and is playing very well. We're lucky to have two very good right backs at the club.
Re: Phil Bardsley
Won us a point yesterday. Brilliant clearance off the line when Pope missed it. Almost took his head off.

Cork is exactly what Swansea are missing. Ridiculous decision to sell him, think SD had their pants down with that one.Vegas Claret wrote:Clement didn't want to sell him, the owners thought it was a good offer from us and made the decision - Clement has said this on numerous occasions

Re: Phil Bardsley
That last transfer window was phenomenal. I was out with a few Watford fans on Thursday and to say they think Andre has been less-than-value-for-money is an understatement. Meanwhile we picked up Bardsley and Cork for relative peanuts. I also still think Walters will have a part to play for us this season.
