Re: Leaving after 4th goal
We left after 70 minutes and got a taxi back to Piccadily Spoons for 6 quid, bargain.
Re: Leaving after 4th goal
It`s all about circumstances isn`t it?
People leave early for various reasons. We left a few minutes early as we were parked on site at the orange car park and knew it would be difficult to get off. Obviously if we were 4 - 1 up that wait on the car park doesn't appear to take as long.
Some fans are on coaches, so they stay till the final whistle as they can`t go anywhere anyway.
Some fans are on trains and stay till the final whistle as this may not affect which train they get.
Some fans have a wife and or kids to get home to
Some fans haven`t anyone to get home to so will stay till whenever.
Some fans are so ****** that they don`t know when the final whistle is,

Where were these 'early leavers' threads when we were in the Championship?

Re: Leaving after 4th goal
I wasn't there today to give me an opportunity to leave early, I was busy ice skating with my daughter in Guildford so to the ueberfans I am probably not qualified to comment but.....
1) Had I been there, I would not have left early, but that is my PERSONAL choice as I live in eternal hope. If others want to leave early, good for them. Think about it, it makes the time when I leave after 90 mins less congested. Everyone is happy!
2) I presume the 'You're just a shoite Man Utd' chant was when we were 1-0 up? In that case what is the problem some people have with this chant? It is obviously tongue in cheek, and follows in an extremely long line of sarcastic football chants, not just by us, but by ALL fans of ALL clubs I would hazard. Would you really prefer a game adorned by chants of purely a factual, serious nature? Let humour, humility and irony into your life!

The game was live on tv here. I didn’t even bother watching it, I slept through. I recorded it, watched Ashley Barnes goal, their first two, then deleted it. I suppose I’m not worthy of being a Claret

Re: Leaving after 4th goal
I didnt leave early. At 4-1 i considered it even though I never leave early. But had limited time left on the parking.
Asked my nephew what he wanted to do and he said stay until the end. We might get back into it. That was at 4-1. Its that eternal optimism that made me stay. Very slim chance it would happen in 1000 games. But I love that youthful belief. He had gone for the 90 minutes. Not just the glory. I will probably get a parking ticket now as i was late back to the camered up car park but will be worth it just so he could take in those few extra minutes of hope.
If others want to leave early spose thats fair enough. I had nowt to rush back for and still had time to go for some food and a few pints in the talbot.

Am I reading this correct. People are saying it’s ok to leave when we are getting beat. I’m glad I’m not in the trenches with a lot of you guys. A lot of people on this board show me why many people can’t be trusted. I Believe in loyalty above everything else. It’s all or nothing with me. With most of you guys it’s csn i get home earlier. Sad.

Its too obvious. You have to be subtle!
Once you go about "trenches" its painfully obvious that you are just copying Spirals excellent **** taking post, and its almost like you've just got up, not had a coffee yet and have just cast your lure without thinking about it. These things needs time, patience and preparation.

You still can't do this properly can you?
Its like you are not even trying and are being serious.
But nobody sane could get annoyed at people who leave after 86 minutes with kids, or old people who struggle with the stairs, or whatever could they?

Re: Leaving after 4th goal
I don't know if this is classed as leaving early, but two guys and a young lad next to me
left their seats with ten minutes to go to half time.Ten minutes into the second half, one
of the guys came back with the young lad and in general chit chat I asked where his mate
had got to. His reply was that he was on the concourse, drinking and watching it on the screens
down there. That left him to look after the little lad, that was not his !!!!!!!
He didn't return at all. What is the effing point and where was his responsibility to look after
his own child ?
Some folk never cease to amaze me.

I’d just like to say I’m taking credit for our 8 minute rendition of “we are the longside” in the final minutes of the game, I thought it sounded excellent! I do understand why people leave early but it’s nice to clap the lads off the field when they’ve given everything against arguable the best team in the world!

Re: Leaving after 4th goal
There was a woman on the concourse who looked worse for wear with a pint in her hand about 4.30pm. Probably spent most of the game / 2nd half on the concourse. You might be thinking so what but she was holding hands with a young girl presumably her daughter. Hopefully the young girl got home safely, she was probably about 6 and possibly the one responsible for the 2 of them.

Fair play to the ones who bothered to turn up and watch us get inevitably ripped apart. I didn't bother watching most of the game, nothing enjoyable about watching your side get pumped. All very predictable

To the dead hard Burnley fan leaning out of a silver coloured hackney cab.
Not everyone you were abusing walking back to Piccadilly was a 'sad Manc b**tard'.
Also, why had you shut your window a few yards later when we caught you up at the traffic lights?
I had merely intended to point out politely, that most of the people around me were Burnley fans.

Forget leaving early its the pr1cks who sit in the longside lower near me and on my row ,who without fail every single game leave on the 40th minute for a pie, beer etc and then reappear between the 48th and 50th minute disrupting every other fan in the process.

I've been doubly naughty because not only did I leave the ground at 86 minutes, I also left a bit of my take-a-way chicken Jalfrezi when I got home later that evening. How bad does that make me?

fair play to the ones who stayed. WHY. thats why they are there to do, support the team win lose or draw. its supporters like Lancaster who give us real fans a bad name. leaving early, making excuses then bragging about it. however what do you expecet from a guy who apart from being blind, unemployed and a moron is also a fair weather fan.

I left around the 85th minute, and I was home over 45 minutes before a mate who stayed until the final whistle. Parked next to the stadium and it was still a nightmare getting away, especially with the police making you walk all the way around to the ‘car park’ (mud bath).Stayingup wrote:How do you know it cut 45 minutes off your travel time home?
