Re: bolton v magdeburg
What tier do they play in? The Germans are probably the best football fans in the world, incredible support for their teams. Supposedly it's less than £90 for a season ticket at Bayern, so it doesn't surprise me the German clubs are followed in huge numbers.

Different kettle of fish, but my ST for Sparta Prague is 50 quid per season, and Viktoria Zizkov is 15 quid per half seasonKRBFC wrote:What tier do they play in? Some of the Magdeburg fans were at Wrexham’s home game on Saturday apparently.

Re: bolton v magdeburg
Won the European Cup Winners Cup in the 1970s an era when there were some really good East German club sides, Dynamo Dresden, Lokomotiv Leipzig, Hansa Rostok etc
Magdeburg currently play in the third tier (equivalent to League One)- they're on their way back from obscurity. I think that's the lowest fully pro/national league in German football.

This footage can now be used to arrest the Bolton fan walking away from direction of the Madgeburg fans with his hands in an aggressive manner, in his pockets, and his head down in a provocative display attempting to incite the Germans.

That's only if they score a second. If they open the scoring they annexe the Sudetenland.gawthorpe_view wrote:They invade Poland.

Crossed paths with about 30 of them in Piccalilli on Saturday, presumably returning from the Wrexham game. Very aggressive and had 6 or so unhappy police officers chaperoning them. In contrast to a harmless but drunk group of Uddersfield fans on the way back from Bolton.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote:Some of the Magdeburg fans were at Wrexham’s home game on Saturday apparently.

We played Celtic in 1978. Not aware of any friendship developing out of that. 40 year anniversary later this year. Perhaps we could arrange something for those that attended.Belgiumburnley wrote:They played against each other in the Cup Winners Cup in 1979.
