No, I don't believe he was happy with the squad he was left with though which shouldn't be the case for a manager who has got us 2 promotions and survival. Wells clearly isn't a PL player, never in his career has he looked capable of stepping up. Why not use the £5M to take a punt on someone with potential?

I am quite happy to take a punt on someone with potential.I would then be quite happy to read your negative comments if they failed to live up to your expectations.I will judge Wells when he has been given a run in the team and I have seen him play, until then he remains what he was bought for a member of the squad.

I'm convinced some blokes on this MB could wake up in a luxury penthouse suite in a Las Vegas hotel, surrounded by a gaggle of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, with the bath overflowing with champagne and a suitcase full of money, and they'd still find summat to whinge at.

If he wasn't happy with the squad why has nothing been heard?
Rumours always slip out of most other clubs if a manager isn't happy, but there has been nothing coming out of Burnley that anyone has seen.

It's entirely possible Dyche is happy with what he's got.

Erm... Thanks I think.

I probably will unless it's accidental or painful.

Signing Walters always seemed strange when we had Barnes. They play pretty much the same role and Barnes isn't lacking fitness so much that we needed someone to cover him for the last thirty minutes of matches (and he wasn't expected to be starting anyway).

I can only think that the expectation was that Barnes would be leaving and that's why we got Walters in.

The biggest threat to the admirable quality of loyalty is complacency. Barnes is a good player, a certain type of player you could argue has no genuine competition within the squad. So, introduce competition - Walters. I've noticed how Barnes' performance has picked up since the arrival of Walters. All to our benefit.
