Logged in just to say that having been watching the Clarets since 1948, this day has given me such a feel good factor, I'm just going to pour my second gin and tonic..........can't take as much alcohol nowadays, but I will be well gone tonight...........what a great time to be a CLARET.

Logging in to say. Fantastic, Wonderful news! Well deserved. Thanks to the Chairman and board.
Minor question. What about Billy Mercer? He has been with Dyche and must be up to 8 years with us?

Tim Noone said several times over last few years when I said he would go to Newcastle, West Ham or England that he would be here for life. I thought he was insane. Clearly not!

He's the main man so should be paid the most.
What a very productive day we've had.

Re: Dyche signs ?
I think it also shows that Sean has made a career decision. Instead of chasing the big jobs where you have much less control and much less long-term security, it looks like he has opted to carry with a long-term project in which he has pivotal role. Why not? It's just as well paid and probably brings more satisfaction than a here today gone tomorrow position.

Re: Dyche signs ?
Best news of the year!!!!
I have been boring saying he had put himself in the Curbishley position, I hope this well and truely puts him in that position.
Maybe he has realised no Big clubs are going to take him and the clubs around us in mid table have become much less attractive.
I hope he has been given promises of funds without breaking the club.
After lots of bad news (boiler broke needs a new one £2,000. Dishwasher broke £400, car failed it MOT £500) lately this really cheered me up.

After no wins in 8 most PL managers would be looking over their shoulder. Shows we are a different sort of club. Hopefully now he has been made a very rich man none of the focus goes. It does give him a chance to build a real legacy though, a chance that few managers get.

Re: Dyche signs ?
A word of congratulations to Mike Garlick and the Board too. I like Mike’s columns in the programme - he’s made it very clear what he wants for the club and when all the conjecture around Dyche’s future grew he was quoted as saying he wants him here in five years 10 years time.
Well he’s delivered on the first part of that.
Good leadership once again.

Spot on post. Great times to be a claret & I don't think we can be any prouder of our team n town than @ this current moment! Utc..cricketfieldclarets wrote:In a time of extreme disloyalty and uncertainty in the game, this is great news. He has rewarded Burnley by committing and we have handsomely rewarded him. 70k a week though, not bad for a cobblers lad from Kettering.
In seriousness, he deserves it. He is the most important part of the team - even the club. And to see the club and him have the same vision is great. Hopefully he has been assured of similar levels of backing to not only progress, but do so and evolve our style of play over the coming years.
This with resigning Tarkowski, signing Lennon shows we are now progressing to the next level. We will always be at risk of losing our best players, but with the manager buying into the club so much its a great sign of intent!

Re: Dyche signs !
So, after five years of loitering about the place with his easy breezy come and go as he pleases temporary contract, Sean has finally put pen to paper and become the clubs newest permanent signing.
Truly amazing day, first Lennon and then this unexpected and wholly joyous piece of news. Well done Burnley and well done Sean, now back to work new lad we have only begun to scratch the surface of what can be achieved.
First order of business .... somebody get Arfield in that office while the pen is still out and being passed around.

Re: Dyche signs !
Another one here that is delighted with this news. Well done BFC and Sean and his staff.
I wanted 2 fast wingers, a cb and a proper nr 10 for Christmas. So far so good. Now lets have that centre back and a proper nr 10 that can link up midfield to the front and score 10 goals a season. The latter is where we need to push the boat out (within our wage stucture of course). We can afford it. If we have to wait until July then so be it. However, the cb has to be now. Why risk it, especially as our most likey emergency cover (Wardy) is still out.

This is the best news I've heard in months. I fully expected that Sean was biding his time and would leave at the end of the season.
What's great about this is Sean is a man of principles and honesty and I can't see him leaving us now unless England comes calling.
