Islam Slimani
Loan deal agreed to Newcastle. Great couple of signings for them with him and Kenedy.

I think you've added a word too many - should read Couple of signings for them .....Milltown1882 wrote:Loan deal agreed to Newcastle. Great couple of signings for them with him and Kenedy.
Re: Islam Slimani
Cracking player Slimani the dragon slayer, 8 goals in 15 starts in a system that doesn't suit him. 48 in 61 at Sporting. Would fit us perfectly IMO

Matter of opinion. Definitely an upgrade on what they've got for a team that never seems to score.ClaretTony wrote:I think you've added a word too many - should read Couple of signings for them .....

Re: Islam Slimani
I always mis-read his name as the highly incongruous Islam Salami.
Every time I see this guys names it lights up the charcuterie cortex in my frontal lobe.

Re: Islam Slimani
Good job he can't play against us - he tore us apart at Leicester.
Great player.

These two sound like a couple more nails for the Geordies coffin
Re: Islam Slimani
At £30m (18 months ago) he`s hardly been a roaring success for Leicester.
He might be better than what we have got - but he`s been one of a few very expensive mistakes Leicester have made in the transfer market since winning the league.
Yes he tore us apart - once. Did he even play in the other 2 games ? He has not tore many teams apart in 18 months.
He is definitely better than what Newcastle have though - and would not be surprised if he did well in these last few months of the season if he can stay fit. Newcastle probably have the poorest strikers in the league.
