He was excellent. It isn't easy to just jump in after a spell out, particularly against such a good team. Bardsley had made 2 or 3 mistakes 1st half. Unsure if he was subbed due to that or for an injury perhaps?

Made a huge difference second half. About three games too late but glad he’s finally back! Looking forward to seeing him combine with JBG/Lennon. More of them balls too!

Think it was a precaution after Bardsley’s knock on his knee at roughly 15 minutes in..... but he showed why he’s the starter he needs to be. Bardsley a bit of a booking liability and for my liking backs off too easily into the penalty area

The cross was absolutely world class.
Really hope that’s him back in the starting XI again now.

Great half from Lowton. That cross won us the point and he looked safer at the back too.
It's a bit harsh on Bardsley who has done a great job of covering but Lowton ought to be first choice.

Just goes to show that we should always put our best 11 out and not keep better players on the other bench because somebody else " has done no wrong"

I thought it was a very good cross from Taylor too, which then indirectly led up to the goal.

The cross was world class but let’s not discount the finish, it wasn’t a simple finish.

It's not always as simple as that. SD clearly takes morale strongly into consideration and I can see why he does it. It's a balancing act. Putting your best team out every time can have an impact on morale and indirectly have an effect on the squad overall. Without knowing how Lowton was feeling and whether he was 100% ready to start, it's difficult to say.

Put in a few great balls, quality for the goal.... that's why the fans wanted him back in, not because we ''think we know more than Dyche''

Taking nothing away from Lowton - who was excellent, but it was moving Lennon to the right to set up the Lowton / Lennon partnership that made all the difference.
Well done, Matthew, Well done Sean Dyche.

Finally he has arrived.
That 45 minutes summed up what many have been saying for a good few weeks.
Offers more going forward, more at the back and is diceplined too.
Let's have the last word for Mr Dyche, if that was tactical, then it was a masterstroke.
No one can say you left it too late today!

For consistency of reward I would say not but Ward brings more. Would be surprised if Dyche does drop Taylor back to the bench, purely in team management terms...

Lowton coming on completely changed the game. Far more mobile and an attacking threat down the right hand side. Sould have been back in the side well before now and if he remains fit will surely start every remaining game.

Necessary to have a go at one of our players (who has given everything towards the cause by the way)?

I'm glad for him.
He's probably my favorite footballer as a person. Intelligent, Great sense of humour.
That's just going off Club videos they put up on youtube.
Great in defense and attack today.

Bardsley has taken some undeserved flak on this board the last couple of weeks. He gave a pen away FFS. That turn would have drawn a pen from many FBs. but not Lowton.
The big difference between them is that Matt tries to stay on his feet whilst Bardsley loves a slide tackle, especially if he can take the ball and the man.
Welcome back, Matt.

Lowts and ward clearly the catalyst for our excellent results early season, Taylor starting to settle in well but we miss wards early balls into the box

First 10-15 minutes he was on the pitch, he really struggled - giving the ball sloppily, getting beaten one v one fortunate more than once that City didn't take advantage. But he grew into the game and he showed exactly what he does give us - that quality in possession, especially in attack. The cross for the goal was an absolute peach, and we haven't seen a cross like that from right full back since he got injured.
Good to have him back, even if Bardsley is probably being a little harshly treated on here.

I think some of the comments have been a tad harsh but it's probably because, prior to the injury, Lowts was arguably our most improved player. Hopefully back in till the end of the season now, clearly the best RB at the club.

Has rapidly become one of my favourite players this year. Superb defensively and starting to look a real threat when he goes forward too. Brilliant today.
