Didn’t we recently draw with a team playing Pep Guardiola style football?

It is a worrying run of form, or lack of. We need to kill poor sides off, especially at home. Very lucky we had such a fantastic first half of the season. There are some winnable games coming up, would be nice to finish off well...

Can't legislate for conceding a goal like that. Southampton didn't look like they'd ever score and we were in total control until Bobby Madley blocked Westwood's path to the ball.

**** happens unfortunately.

I can kind of understand playing the long game. We are safe, why risk players just back from injury. Bloody frustrating not to get the win though, and obviously i didnt pay my money to go or freeze my nuts off so yeah, frustrations are understood

that's as maybe but Dyche did nothing whatsoever to alleviate the inevitable pressure once Saints made their attacking substitutions. **** poor from the manager

Still should have blown for manhandling Long.

There was no pressure until Madley fouled Westwood.

Nonsense, the minute they took Ward Prowse off they were far more adventurous - they threw caution to the wind and every time we hoofed it forward it just came back. Vokes and Wood would have changed the dynamic of the last 20 mins, I for one don't blame Madley at all.

I'm curious when anyone suggested that about Dyche?

And we were absorbing everything they threw at us (which wasn't much).

I'm not blaming Madley either, it was just one of those unfortunate things that happens less than once in 100 games, but we'd have definitely won that game if it hasn't happened and there was nothing we could've done about it.

Southampton were as bad as it gets today. They barely had an impression on the game, goal aside. It wasn't a great game and certainly not a "great" preformance but I thought we had complete control of it.

The goal was a bit of a freak incident and the handball by the keeper was bad reffing. We really should have put them to bed though.

yeah but we did nothing to stop them throwing stuff at us because we left Barnes and Hendrick up top, is what it is at this stage though.

We were far from perfect but in charge for most of the match. Ref created the opening for them and the failed to blow for the foul on Long. Earlier he went blind when staring at a keeper handling a yard outside his box.
3 points becomes one.

We were at home to a poor team who we should have finished off. Why is Hendrick still playing when he’s been so poor for so long? Surely we should have two up front and tried to mix it up. It’s way too predictable.

We didn't need to do anything to stop it because we were comfortably dealing with it.

If Pope making a wonder save is comfortable, I agree.

Keepers are there to make saves. Are they there to handle outside their areas?
