Next Up - West Ham

Post by UpTheClaretsFCBK » Sun Mar 04, 2018 10:19 am

Does anyone know, do West Ham have a major defender shortage?

I noticed on MOTD that they had Cresswell playing at centre half, with Winston Reid and the youth player Rice in a 3-5-2.

With Reid going off with a serious injury, will they only have Rice available? Could see Zabaleta move to centre back.

It certainly bodes well for us next week if they’re forced to play 3 or 4 full backs due to injuries.

They seem to only have 1 more injury than us.

It bodes well should the 2nd half team start from the off, with the players playing on the same sides etc.
No defenders will fancy facing Barnes and Wood, less so with constant balls in the box, with a make shift and inexperienced back line.

Looking forward to the next game, for the first time in a while.

Yes they're well short of CHs.
They had Collins and Ogbanna out yesterday then Reid carried off. I think that just leaves Rice if none of the injured are able to return (though maybe Kouyate can play CH too). They'll also still have regular FB Masuaka out suspended for our match.
They've still got a few very decent midfield players but it'll be tempting for Moyes to set up a more defensive MF given their beating at Swansea.
Could be a good chance for us next week, although my bookie has WHU as favourites @ 23/20 cf 13/5 for the away win (which I'll be partaking in).

It's only 6 weeks since we went to a heavily depleted CP and lost.
They are all PL professionals, you have to show up and win the points.

Says it’s sold out online. Anyone know how easy it is to get a ticket in the home end?

This is a game we have to be confident in. We've seen them play and they are fallible at the back, that's for certain sure.

Wood will be looking forward to this one, but it's central midfield where it matters. If we can boss the midfield we'll win.

I like moyes, but his team are depleted again, if he can muster a half decent west ham side, they are potentially dangerous, whoever they are playing.

Ogbonna will probably be back as he was just ill, I think.
