Surely a top ten finish is all but assured?

Post by Spijed » Sun Mar 11, 2018 6:26 pm

With just eight games to play we are nine points in front of Brighton in 11th with a far superior GD (+1 compared to -12).

I would agree. with Brighton 9 points behind and 8 games left we should make the top 10 which would make a fantastic season, let's take it one game at a time though.

Good to see you yesterday spijed, hope you avoided all the angry Ray Winstones afterwards.

At the moment, I have us down as finishing 11th but now Wood is back, I expect our form to pick up. So 9th is certainly realistic.

I would imagine the bookies have stopped taking bets on a top ten finish.

I want that 7th place now.

We’re coming good at the right time.

If you're more points clear than games remaining, I've found it's a good indicator. For us to finish outside the top 10, we'd need everybody down including Brighton to finish above us. We're 9 points ahead of Brighton, with 8 games remaining, so I would say we'd have to do something pretty bad to finish 11th or lower. Even 10th I can't see.
