According to Companies House, further shares issued by Venkys London Ltd totalling £3.625m on 21st March, which means Venkys have pumped in the eye-watering total of £20,772,156 in the last 14 months alone.....

And to think, that's the bonus payment which will be received with the team who finishes 8th or 7th in the Premier League ...

It's worse than that, 7th Merit payment is forecast to be £28m, 8th £26m .......

And what thanks do they get? Snowballed.
There's gratitude for you. They're not worth it, Venks.
Get shut now.

Thought the Fair Play rules shafted the lower leagues but let the big boys off scot free?

Venkys motivate their staff in the Black Hole of Calcutta by threatening shirkers with a stint at their other Black Hole Deadwood . I'd pluck a chicken in less then twenty seconds under that pressure.

I think you're right, but until then, let's wish our friends from Wigan and Shrewsbury all the best for the rest of the season, and hope that the play-off lottery does for our neighbours ! Tickets next season in the Darwen End for the Accy Stanley game, anyone ??

C'mon Wigan and Shrewsbury spoil their party. Their best players should then cherry picked by us and immediately loaned to Accrington, Doncaster or Gillingham for next season.

The only thing I can think of (and if true, it really is remarkable) is that the Venkys realise what they did and want to make amends.
Its so batshit crazy and mental but what other reason is there?

Venkys haven't jumped ship...and have weathered the storm so to speak, theyll get Blackburn promoted now. I personally like to put my energies into burnley and not worry about what they do.

All very quiet on the anti-Venkys front now they're having a decent season. It's not about the owners as shown by the pathetic turnouts for protests and the fact that they only ever organise "boycotts" against lower-league opposition in the first round of the cups. It's about thinking they have a god-given right to play top-flight football. Give them a bit of (relative) success and they'll roll over and have their tummies tickled.

Some posters on here said a few weeks ago that even if Rovers went up, they'd still not have the finances to strenghten. Is this still the case? If so, how would they end up back in the Prem? That would take some serious astute signings for next to nothing.

If promoted to the Championship, their revenue would be significantly higher BUT they would need to upgrade their current squad.
Even if they get promoted to the Championship at the end of this year, and next year they have a miracle-of-all-miracles to finish next season in the top 6 AND somehow get promoted to the PL, I believe Venkys will take that TV money (100+ million dollars), pay off the loans to themselves, gut the team of any player making any sort of wage, and then sell. Its the equivalent of someone deep in debt needing to win the lottery to get out of it, knowing thought that the lottery would still only make them break even.

I guess also, if they do go up (I think it'll be Wigan/Rovers top 2, unfortunately), then their wage bill will also increase a lot?

They are playing well in League One with a Team that struggled and failed to stay up in the Championship last Season. If they should get promoted, and serious investment in that same team does not materialise, then I can't see anything other than another struggle to stay up in the Championship. If they are to ever get back into the Top Flight, then like us, they are going to have to get initially lucky, and then build diligently upon that success. Earn it, not Buy It.

I think the Venkys are in it for the long haul of eventual promotion to the Prem and the riches that promises.
Fair play to them, they've stuck it out and faced down the bellendery from the majority of their "fans".
They could quite easily have sold up.

The question is why would Venkys keep putting money into this pretty hopeless cause? Even if they can write it off against tax there would seem nohis point. They'll not see Premier league football again, crowds down so it's loss upon loss year after year. They dont like football, they never visit the place (cant blame them for that) So what reason is there for keep piling money in?

It's a poor standard is League 1 and it's not quite the team from last season. They have one or two better players but also loanees. They probably will go up but could really struggle.
