You didn't provide evidence of 500,000 children being killed in Iraq, because there isn't evidence to show that.

I’m a Police Officer based in London, so here is my take, for what it is worth.

Five years ago, I was on a Safer Neighbourhood Team. We had the numbers, both in Officers and PCSO’s, to manage our ward. All manner of ‘local’ issues would be tackled head on and dealt with, whether it be brothels, ASB, begging, fly tipping, whatever. I knew the problem addresses, the nuisance kids, I would know the alleyways they’d disappear down, and I took personal pride in making sure the ward was as well managed as could be.

Five years on, the resources we have at our disposal are laughable. Safer Neighbourhood Teams have been cut to the bone, from having perhaps 1 x Sgt and 6 PC’s to only 1 x PC. Emphasis is now placed back on the Response Teams to try and stem the tide. We are routinely running under strength, sometimes as much as 20-30%, and there is absolutely no contingency left in the tank for emergencies.

I routinely do not have a break or bite to eat, and I am off late by 3/4 hours on a regular basis. There are no drugs dogs to assist with searches, and no GP dogs to help track for burglary suspects. Forensics are prioritised to the busier Boroughs, and I have to tell victims of crime that forensic opportunities will be lost because there is no one available.

Officers are breaking their backs to meet 999 call demand, and we have ZERO time to go out there and proactively look to stop individuals or cars.

The strain on the NHS has a big impact on us. MET cars carry defibs as standard, so any calls to the Ambulance Service for a collapsed person needing CPR/defib also comes to us. We also deal with persons suffering MH crisis, and can wait up to 2-3 hours for an Ambulance to attend, as there are non available. Hundreds if not thousands of children and vulnerable adults go missing everyday, all resource intensive.

I could go on, but I won’t, you get the idea. Make no mistake, we are getting swamped, and very much losing the battle. Criminals know this, and are taking full advantage.

It's still a people problem, good people don't break the law to this degree so why are there so many wilful criminal's in London?
I get that it's a lot larger but even adjusted for averages London seems notably worse than any other city in the UK? Surely demographic issue as well as a lack of policing issue?
