This looks a complete mirror of kean last season. Mee has had his head turned and he is off, end off.

This would be a worry if Long hadn’t been superb in the games he’s played.
We’ll be fine.

Re: Mee out for the season
If mee did end up leaving would dyche keep faith in long and give him the chance to make the spot his own or would he go and get a ready made replacement and long back on bench ?

So, no chance he could just be injured, then?Top Claret wrote:This looks a complete mirror of kean last season. Mee has had his head turned and he is off, end off.

Re: Mee out for the season
I am trusting CT on this . Hopefully Long & Tarks stay fit-we know KL will give his all. On a positive we will need his extra pace v Leicester, Chelsea & Arsenal but proves we need cover as soon as the window opens
Re: Mee out for the season
You mean like Keane who faked his 'injury' so well last season that he even withdrew from the England squad in June?Top Claret wrote:This looks a complete mirror of kean last season. Mee has had his head turned and he is off, end off.

Re: Mee out for the season
Is he any good cos we could do with decent back up at Centre Back next season if he's had enough of you and is going cheap?
Re: Mee out for the season
You mean you don't remember him playing for you?Foxy_Tom99 wrote:Is he any good cos we could do with decent back up at Centre Back next season if he's had enough of you and is going cheap?

Pretend Leicester fan can't remember that Ben Mee has played for Leicester before.

Nope dont remember him at all but if he ended up with you was probably crap. Sounds like he might be good enough to be a squad player for us now though

Not quite sure if you're a Bast*rd or one of our empty heads with a grudge against this board.

Re: Mee out for the season
Will be a sad day when Mee leaves the club. Sincerely hope the rumours are not true

Exactly!jrgbfc wrote:Hmm a bit concerning this, very similar to the way Boyd and Arfield were unceremoniously dumped once it became clear they wouldn't be signing a new deal.
Shackell the same, as I recall.
What a sad end to a fine Burnley career.
Lucky there wasn't more needing to sign!

'Shin flared up after knock' = official.Top Claret wrote:What exactly is Ben Mee injury?
'Decided he wants a move' = most likely.

Can someone bring me up to date with these supposed 'rumours' please?

Re: Mee out for the season
Has there been any official word from the club or are we just speculating.
“Ben could be a couple of weeks. We’ll see,” said the Burnley boss.
“He’s got a stress reaction at the bottom of his shin. It’s a stress response to the workload and gets quite sore around where the ankle attaches to the shin. He had something similar last year which cost him a few games. We will just have to monitor that and see how it settles down.”

Had a friend say he will be going to Everton. Hopefully it's an unfounded rumour thoughBin Ont Turf wrote:Can someone bring me up to date with these supposed 'rumours' please?

Re: Mee out for the season
Why the big panic? Even if he isn't going to sign a new contract, he is still here next season!
Re: Mee out for the season
Does it play on his mind a bit, that his 2 partners in the past 2 seasons having been getting all the plaudits & England call ups & he's looked upon as good old Ben Mee you can always rely on him. Would he be the same player outside of our way of playing, I'm not sure. A very dependable no frills type player for me, whos don't brilliantly well in his time here....but is he what we need moving forward, is there better out there ?
Re: Mee out for the season
Of course, if he comes back into the team, it will be because "he wants to say goodbye to the fans because he's leaving". If you look hard enough for confirmation of rumours, you can usually find it.
