O/T Ipad unlocking
Hi guys
I have been given an Ipad to that is activation locked.
I have searched online & there seems to be several ways of unlocking it.
I thought though I would ask on here first to see if anyone knows of a way that actually works rather than trying all those posted which might be BS or no longer working.
Hope someone can help UTC

Re: O/T Ipad unlocking
Does it say something like iPad locked connect to iTunes? If it does I think you will need to recover it from recovery mode.
If you search on the internet for iPad recovery mode you will find some advice for it.
I had to do it recently for my sons iPad I believe it went something like
Ensure iPad is off
Launch iTunes on pc with lighting cable connected to pc but not the iPad.
Press and hold home button for 5 seconds keep this pressed
Connect lightning cable to iPad whilst still holding home down and also pressing the vol up and down buttons.
Release the buttons when you see recovery mode you will see a picture that looks like a lightning cable end.
From then it tells you what to do

Re: O/T Ipad unlocking
Hi
When it comes on I have to go through set up select country.
Then it asks which network I want to connect to.
I select my network then it says this ipad is linked to an apple ID
Then asks for ID & password.
This Ipad has supposedly sat in a drawer for years & no one knows the log in details thats why I was given it to have a play with.

Your point is?
I ahave asked the person who gave it to me about it.
He was given it a few years ago by some one whos husband had died & they couldn't do anything with it to get it unlocked.
He tried couldn't work out how to unlock it so put it away.
So if you are infering it is stolen I am sorry to disappoint you.

It seems to be setting up as a new device until it reaches the id screen then I cant seem to get it to go further.

Re: O/T Ipad unlocking
In a nutshell, you need to be able to connect the ipad to itunes on a computer.
