Jason Cundy saying that it's a disgrace that we are representing England in Europe next season, despite scoring the fewest number of home goals in the league.

Just wait till we get a 92nd minute penalty on Sunday.
Merson will go into meltdown.
And I will wake up

Talk sport really is journalism at it's lowest. In fact it's an insult to journalists. They argue the toss about everything just to try and create interest
They fail miserably.
You shouldn't let it bother you, their opinions are as irrelevant as they are.

Having got tired of cundy, sagars, Durham and another shock jock whose name I cannot remember, I have started listening to talksport 2 a lot, and I'm impressed. A lot more reasoned discussion and a lot less shock jock.

Long since finished with Talksport and their absolute drivel.

Couldn’t care less about ‘representing England’. We’re representing Burnley and it’s our European tour. The Premier League, the FA, Jason Cundy and all the alcoholic creeps at Talksport can **** off.

He's also been massively complimentary about us as well.
I'm not sure why you are all getting wound up. To get callers in, both presenters take totally opposite positions and argue (normally sensibleish positions, but still controversial).
Its what they do. If you don't like that style then don't listen to talksport. Its what they do.
And whatever people on the radio say, or on the south coast, we are going on a European tour and we've managed to get there by virtue of being the 7th best side in the best league in the world (hyperbole but hey, for this, I'm taking it!) for the whole season.
No clubs our size can honestly say that and its ace.

Perhaps he was just debating.
Surely you can take a position in a debate and argue for that position without actually believing in the position you're arguing for.

There’s no doubt Durham has a skill for that, it’s fairly blatant he doesn’t really believe half the stuff he says but he knows how to push the buttons and it works for the station year in, year out.
Cundy is just a noisy ill-informed moron.
The only interesting bit on there in a whole week’s broadcasting is the South American football expert. I just tune in for that these days.

He isn't doing us down though is he?
It's a dig at the teams below us for being so poor that a team scoring so few goals can finish so far up the league.
...and he's right, the general standard, ourselves and City apart, has been terrible this year.

A team can win the league with maximum points scoring 38 goals. It a meaningless point really, you get the same points for scoring one more goal than the opposition as you do if you score 20 more.

No it's not. The points distribution is pretty much the same as it is every season.
Are you saying Man. U., Liverpool, Spurs etc. are worse than they were last season?
Hull finished 3rd from bottom on 34 points. This season it looks likely to be similar.
As for us, has it not occurred to anyone that we have negated our goal scoring issue by not conceding goals.

Hawksbee and Jacobs are terrible. They just witter on. Other than Brazil, Wilkins when he was on and Simon Jordan (surprisingly good)they are all terrible. Jim White ( grating voice ) Durham ( wind up merchant) Cundy ( Thick and Loud) Parlour ( Thick) Gough ( Thick) all awful. Also started listening to Talksport 2 to avoid them.

I think as Newcastle showed under Keegan free scoring teams who are porous at the back don't win league titles.

I agree apart from your liking of Alan (How is old bob nowadays?") Brasil. He has to be the laziest, clueless, unprepared broadcaster on any radio station. He`s good for a laugh but an embarrassment and I only think they keep him on for the fun factor.

Oh and Bob Mills the teetotaller who sounds leathered. How can he get a job in radio ? Surely the number one requirement should be you can speak clearly. If he has a genuine speech impediment then I apologise as it may be an equal opportunities thing.

We get supporters each year saying the same thing.
The league is poor
It'll be harder next season
A team will go down with 40 points.
The standard of the leagues isn't going down. It marginally improves each season with better coaching/technology as each team moves forward.

Cundy is a cu...
He's a fat version of Adrian Durham...deliberately controversial to try and get himself more work - known in the trade as a shock jock (known in my house as a thick c-ock)
Gough is just stupid....really stupid.
Alan Brazil is a complete embarrassment - he does absolutely no research about anything and spends his life trying to secure his next corporate hospitality. When he does have to express his views on anything he comes across as a bigoted prejudicial old fashioned idiot. What I do occasionally enjoy is his show with Ally McCoist but that is purely because of McCoist.
Jim White's show is ok...he gets decent guests and good interviews. I don`t particularly care for Jim White himself but he seems to be pretty fair minded in his views and has put his weight behind some worthy causes / campaigns on the radio. The footballers sexual abuse cases were the best examples where Jim White was one of the first broadcasters to get them to speak about it and I think he played an important role.
Mike Parry and the other Mike has frankly got to be the worst show on any radio station...utter drivel but at least they put it on in the graveyard shift
As for Hawksbee and Jacobs personally I like them and I like their show. For me you can tell they are the only ones on the station who are professionals and they have a long career in producing and writing shows. These two were the people behind Fantasy Football with Frank Skinner.

I just can’t bring myself to listen to any Commercial Radio Station. I don’t think I’ve tuned into one for well over a decade. Adverts on telly are bad enough. On the radio they are excruciating.

The sports bar is very entertaining, especially when talking about United or Chelsea in my opinion. Do I agree with what they say? no, but I enjoy the debate.
