Go on then. What actions has she taken? You know, like criticising one group of people for something while supporting another group of people when they do the exact same thing. I just laughed out loud in the St Peters centre reading this. I love how overly dramatic your insults are to people. Any normal person would have ended their sentence at "exact same thing. But not you turts, you have to go for the hysterics and insults. It's even funnier because that last sentence is exactly what you do with me.
I like it though, this isn't a criticism, it genuinely makes me laugh

That'll be a "No, I can't provide an example." then.

Re: Ruth Davidson
Sadly the Tories do have the best female politicians which might just be because they do have to fight for their nominations.
Labour really does need to get rid of all female short lists in this era of gender fluidity and aggressive feminism.

Apart from Davidson I'm really struggling to think of any, although Rudd and Morgan come into the "less poor than the rest" category.ablueclaret wrote:Sadly the Tories do have the best female politicians .......
I wouldn't describe the likes of Leadsom, Truss, Soubry, Perry etc. as being notably better "politicians" than their opposition counterparts, and then there's the boss - Mrs May. Would you really put her in the "best" category?

Add Sarah Wollaston and Heidi Allen to those.
Strangely the Tory women are more forthright than their Labour counterparts who I fear are trapped by ideological purity and political correctness.

She's the PM.
Is she capable of running the country?
Is she capable of getting a good deal with the EU?
Is she capable of even holding her own party together?
Personally I wouldn't rely on TM to run a tuck shop in a creche.
Re: Ruth Davidson
Agreed. But, as you hint, running a tuck shop is considerably more challenging than dealing with Jeremy Corbyn.nil_desperandum wrote:That's setting the bar really low.

Re: Ruth Davidson
When it comes to Europe the Tories are ungovernable whoever they have as leader, May is probably best placed to deal with the chaos which is their position on this.
Sadly Labour is just as ineffective and dishonest when it comes to Brexit.
At present the major parties are lead by people who in the past would never have got anywhere near leadership, but the castigated leader of the Tories is still too much for the heroic leader of Labour. Tells you everything you need to know about modern politics.

A lot of people underestimate May, she is resilient but she knows she’s the sacrificial lamb who will be slaughtered if the Brexit deal isn’t forthcoming.

Re: Ruth Davidson
Resilience isn't always a positive attribute. It usually means that you're on the back-foot and hanging in there. That's not what you normally look for in a leader, though in extraordinary times - such as Churchill in 1940, (and Brian Miller in 1987), it can be important.ablueclaret wrote:A lot of people underestimate May, she is resilient but she knows she’s the sacrificial lamb who will be slaughtered if the Brexit deal isn’t forthcoming.
What is Mrs May's strategic plan and vision for the future?. She demonstrably failed to come up with one when she called an election.
Even Corbyn for all his weaknesses, has a vision and policies. (Whether you agree with them or think them realistic is an entirely separate matter).

Re: Ruth Davidson
Well May did put forward the only controversial plans to deal with social care, but her party or the Daily Mail wouldn’t have them, she also as Home Secretary notoriously took on the police
The Tories are not known for their strategic plans they have rarely introduced any measures or institutions that have had a profound effect on British life, they have always been about the economy and their long held belief that they alone know how to run a capitalist state.
That has meant their Achilles heel has always been social institutions. She is no charismatic leader not really comfortable in the spotlight of modern politics, but sometimes situations demand back scene diplomacy and action and she might be better at that than we imagine.
What I ask is Corbyns vision on Brexit, why do you think he never appears on TV nowadays, he really has nothing to offer on this most important issue because he really isn’t interested in it.

Now there's a tactic we've all seen before. Accuse your political opponents of hating their own country. Stir up hatred of them by smearing them as if they are the ones who hate their fellow countrymen and women. Paving the way for your "Enemies of the People" talk and painting the "liberal media" as "Lügenpresse".
We have a word for people like you. Actually we have several, but this one was supposed to have died in the 40s.
