woman commentator on bbc
Re: woman commentator on bbc
any women is better than Keown, Larsson and Evra as a commentator or pundit, have thought that for a long time and in the last week it has been fully proven. Men should stick to what they do best, going in the woods, but then again no women would understand the "in joke" would they, perhaps you guys can explain it to me because you're all so superior??

Re: woman commentator on bbc
Keown annoys me purely because he can't say Trippier.
I like Alex Scott - I think she's coming across very well. It's a shame Rachel Brown isn't over in Russia as well as she's another female pundit I like (not only because she hails from Burnley either!!). Aluko grates on me unfortunately; there's just something I dislike about her. Having said that I think she's got more to say than a lot of the male pundits. I really liked Fabregas when he did a couple of games - such a shame he's not doing anymore games.
As for the female commentators... they just don't work. Sorry, it's just the truth in my opinion. I'm not sexist before someone comes along and suggests as much, I just don't think the high pitch voices work for commentary. It becomes irritating and distracting. I'd rather listen to Garth Crooks.... ok, maybe it's not that bad

Is Fabregas no longer a pundit?! I quite like Evra as something a bit different. He reminds me of the slightly eccentric Marcel Desailly on the beeb in the early-mid 2000s.jlup1980 wrote:Keown annoys me purely because he can't say Trippier.

Fabregas tweeted "Last game for me" and "Thanks to the BBC" after his last game. A real shame, he was excellent I thought.Foshiznik wrote:Is Fabregas no longer a pundit?! Re: woman commentator on bbc
I reckon that Lucy Worsley’s rhotocism would lend itself nicely to Football Commentary.
Re: woman commentator on bbc
So Jason Cundy is a sexist pig because he said he would prefer to listen to male commentators because of the tone of voice, what ever happened to personal preference? Asian girls aren't for me, does that mean I hate all Asians and want them to all die? No, it doesn't its just a personal preference given a choice.
Re: woman commentator on bbc
Roy Keane is probably the greatest pundit ever, I'd love to see him commentate, he comes out with some hilarious s**t and his facial expression never changes which makes it even funnier.

If you go against the grain of political correctness you deserve to be promptly and public shamed, also if you have a job, you should lose that.KRBFC wrote:So Jason Cundy is a sexist pig because he said he would prefer to listen to male commentators because of the tone of voice, what ever happened to personal preference? Re: woman commentator on bbc
A woman is way too shrill to commentate. They get excited enough as it is at the slightest thing.
Where she might come in handy is at half time, when the blokes get hungry. No doubt the spread would be way better than usual.

Re: woman commentator on bbc
Tup mate, not all women lay on a spread like Morag.
Re: woman commentator on bbc
Slightly off topic, but my mate, who's a Manyoo fan took his new girlfriend to watch them at Stamford Bridge and after they lost 4-0 she said:
'At least there were lot of goals!'

An absolutely useless thread without pictures.

Not the best of analogies really is it ?KRBFC wrote:So Jason Cundy is a sexist pig because he said he would prefer to listen to male commentators because of the tone of voice, what ever happened to personal preference? Cundy is not the sharpest tool in the box. He works for an employer who has recently recognised they do no have enough women working at the radio station and have taken positive action in trying to redress that.
Cundy is one of a number of idiots employed by Talk Radio - if he is too thick to realise the controversy his comments would cause then he deserves to lose his job....a job he was pretty sh-it at anyway. He is hardly going to be a great loss to cutting edge journalism is he ?!!

Re: woman commentator on bbc
The latest off the conveyor belt isn`t SO toe-curlingly bad (apologies, don`t know her name) but her predecessors are teeth-grindingly awful!!! Saying that, most of the male commentators are just tits who love the sound of their own voices. My preference is a Wilson/Murphy combo but Wilson is beginning to grate.
Analysis-wise, Alex Scott is incredibly non-offensive aka pleasant to listen to (and look at!)
Regardless, the BBC is streets ahead of the awful ITV coverage, in my humble opinion.

There are several on North American TV doing various sports. Whenever I hear one, I immediately change the channel. If I wanted a woman to preach to me, I'd get married.
Re: woman commentator on bbc
There was a woman sat with a couple of nonentity ex players, discussing Iceland &Croatia, tonight.
Very well turned out in crisp white blouse, skirt and high heels. No idea what she said but I think it was ok, as they answered her.

IanMcL, you should get Madge to do a game. That would be sure to increase ratings.
