Apologies to all posters for being so negative, but I've had a very difficult few days and didn't have a positive mindset at all.
Well played. I was very positive until 2nd part of extra time when the doubts started to creep in (mainly because of penalties).

England didn't play badly. But they weren't anything like their best.

Columbia though, deserved nothing.
Disgusting game plan that's all the more strange because they can actually play!

Better team won and Colombia were a horrid dirty, negative side so no sympathy but England need to learn that going so negative only led to giving Colombia an undeserved chance.

Kane's, Rashford's, and Tripps' pens were brilliant.

Is this year going to be the year of the Spurs World Cup winning team - taking the credit away from the 66 West Ham win...?

If you see it again look at Hendersons eyes as he spots the ball.
Nervous wreck.

Payment made and I normally donate money to Pendleside in memory of my mum.

Now, if England keep playing like this, it'll be another £100 on Saturday. This could be an expensive World Cup.

Certainly going to have to get better at breaking sides down and creating and scoring chances from open play. Southgate needs to seriously consider one or two changes - Rashford for Sterling for example.

But one game at a time.

It's Pendleside Hospice which I'm sure many people on here will know about. A superb charity and they need all the money they can get.

Some of the snidey comments particularly relating to Pickford are truly pathetic. How about some nice comments and positivity, and not just after the event!

So is that still just two goals scored from open play, Lingard and Kane's deflected shot. The rest penalties (3) and 3 from corners and one scored rom a FK?

Pickford was not looking, he just decided to dive one way, most of the time, in such a way that chat he was on the move prior to the taker getting to the ball. Appalling.

Goes against all that keepers are trained to do during one on o ones....make the striker commit.

He saved a penalty, that’s all that matters.

It was a great night for Pickford, nothing to do for most of the night then pulls off a great save in injury time and wins a penalty shoot out. He’s looked really nervous in the games up to now, perhaps tonight will put an end to that and he can go on to perform well for the rest of the tournament.

Credit to Pickford pulled it out of the bag when it mattered,no-one will care how he saved the penalty just that he saved it.

JUST finished watching the game (3am with 2 young kids is impossible) `live` after the event. Crestfallen when Colombia scored and not at all confident heading into the penalties (WHY THE HELL WOULD WE BE!!!???) but magnificent, magnificent, magnificent. Trippier`s penalty was sensational and what confidence, technique and `balls`.

Anything is possible now BUT I feel there are some issues that need resolving, the biggest of which is Deli Alli. I feel we are carrying him through this tournament and it is possibly Southgate`s only blind spot. He is a passenger, clearly injured so should NOT be playing. He has minimal positive influence on the game or as my father would say, does "bugger all". Seemed to me that Kane was dropping deeper and deeper simply to get the ball. Whether Loftus=cheek is the answer who knows! My only other concern is the pedestrian and passive approach we took after taking the lead. Maybe it was asa result of the Colombian antics and wanting NOT to get involved - I think it switched us off.

ALL THAT SAID - simply unbelievable...almost in tears after the shootout. Thought we were done after Henderson`s telegraphed penalty.

We CAN do this but Southgate has to remove the Alli blinkers. A special mention to Pickford for `that save` and the other `that save` also Maguire and Stones who were outstanding.

COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
