Oil Delivery Question

Post by levraiclaret » Thu Jul 05, 2018 12:39 pm

Can anyone help me with this question,
I have just had a delivery of heating oil - Kerosene 28 sec, I ordered 1,000 litres but the volume corrected to 15 degrees is 939 litres and that is what was delivered. I was billed for 1,000 litres. the temperature here is 26 degrees centigrade.

I thought liquids expand with heat, is their adjustment correct?

If you look at all petrol pumps they say the same....corrected to 15 degrees, I guess it is a standard!

If I’d ordered 1000l I’d expect 1000l. I’d be getting onto the delivery company for their explanation.

Is this why they advise you not to overfill your car petrol tank in Summer?

What litreage was on the print off they gave you.
I have ordered of oil companies before & they have put less in to my tank than I have paid for due to it being full
They have always refunded me with in a couple of days for any difference

In America they advise you to fill up early morning to get the most for your money.
