Falcon-Flacq SC (Mauritius)

Post by davemanu2000 » Mon Jul 09, 2018 2:16 pm

Falcon is a regional club . It is located in the district of Flacq .it was founded in 1980 . From 1993 to 2012 i was the President . From 2nd division it sprang to 1st division where we stayed for 18 years . We won the MFA Cup and League Cup as well .We were among the three best clubs in Mauritius . We had five international players as well . It was well known in the island as a good footballing team .
it happened that after i decided to cede my place to a high brow who was prepared to invest heavily for further upliftment of the club . He was a martinet and introduced many harsh rules and regulations . Many players were disgusted and moved to other clubs . Some members also showed their dissatisfaction .
As such the club was disbanded.the club knew two successive relegations until we touched the basement . one day in a committee meeting the then President resigned and relinquished all responsibilities . i took over and took almost two years to build a challenging promotional team .At regional level we played 7 matches and won all of them by heavy margins . After we had to compete with other regional champions . We had to play four matches .We won all of them and as from yesterday we are promoted to 2nd division at national level. i am sure that we would stay only for one year in the second division as we are likely to be promoted to first division .
i want Falcon to be a Claret wearing the same colour of shirts and shorts . We cannot afford to buy these attires from Burnley shop as they are too expensive .
Will a good or some samaritans volunteer to let us have a good second hand or used dresses for my club Falcon . Ten years back Mr Ian Holdsworth bought a series and sent to us . Now he lives in Spain .

Dave, it was good to read through the clubs summary, quite sad in a way how developments have taken their course in recent years.

I was hoping at some stage I was going to read the new owner was a chicken farmer from Mauritius, however, we can’t have everything we want in life.

On a more serious note, I’m just going through a less than amicable separation, we could though still enjoy a few positives from the whole episode.

If you can let me know the dress sizes you are looking for, there are a few that would fit a couple of nimble wingers or possibly a Trippier style fullback. However, the more recent dresses she purchased would be a struggle for Micky Droy to squeeze into, I’m hoping you’ve set you’re team up with a few old fashioned Centre Halves.

Let me know your thoughts Dave

You are the only person who has responded to my humble request . Thank you for your generous gesture . Mauritian players are not fat but quite nimble . The sizes we need are small or medium .

As ever, a superb and humble post from our long distance Claret, whose use of English is excellent by the way!
This is just a random thought in respect of his request. Should someone fail to come up with a full kit for F-F SC would there be an opportunity for those on the board with old Burnley tops, perhaps lingering in cupboards and which (ahem) may no longer fit us (probably shrunk in the wash!?) to organise something so the team could at least have matching tops? So for instance if perhaps 20 folk with for example the old 125 year Hollands top could drop them off/post them /meet at match to perhaps someone in Burnley prepared to manage this, they could send them all off to davemanu2000- not sure what postage would be but I would certainly be happy to chip into that and I feel sure other would also.
Just a thought and I know the OP has a good few friends around Burnley who might think about this option, it would take some organising but seems to me a very decent cause. If he can get a brand new kit from someone, then all the better. Good luck with the request.

Hi DaveManu2000. Do you mean outfits? Are they a boys team or girls team?

I understand your desire for claret & blue colours but would you want Burnley badges on rather than the teams name?

How many are in the full team?

Maybe we could crowd fund some new football outfits for your team?

Falcon has no girls' team . All our players are between 18 to 25 .Mauritians know me as an ardent fan of Burnley .Trough my club I want that the Clarets and blue to be as famous as the reds of Liverpool or blue of Chelsea . There is no harm if I am trying to inculcate in the minds of football loving Mauritians the clarets and blue .
We have already three sets of jerseys and shorts . One is total royal blue ,one is yellow and blue and the last one is all white .I am not stooping low because of my humble demand .It is all for the love of BURNLEY FC .You may respond or reject it outright. i have nothing to blemish .

Hi Dave, I can't promise anything but next time I'm over in Burnley I will enquire how much it will cost. With Mauritius being the birth place of my father I am happy to try and help.

Hi Dave,

According to Wikipedia, is it right that you qualified for the CAF Champions league in 1997 ? I hope you are successful this year.
P.S. I like the white, sky blue and yellow kit the coach is wearing ( https://www.facebook.com/Faucon-Flacq-S ... 499625272/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), although of course you are wearing claret !
