Milan out of Europa League

Post by ClaretTony » Wed Jun 27, 2018 4:14 pm

AC Milan - two year European ban for breaking financial fair play rules. They were due to go straight into group stage.

What happens now then? Will Italy get another spot?

No idea and they have right of appeal. They were going into groups with Lazio while Atalanta have been drawn out in same round as us. Would be difficult to now move Atalanta into groups and replace them in qualifying with Fiorentina.

I suppose they could shove Atalanta into the group stage and have a Q1 round "lucky loser" take their place in round Q2.

I presume it will be the team with the next best seeding behind AC Milan who will take their place.

been loads of times to the San Siro and although it would be astonishing to see us play such a name, the stadium is a dump. If you complain about the Turf needing a spruce up then San Siro needs a rebuild.

Weird. it’s comfortably the best stadium I’ve ever visited.

Way better than anything in England and I’ve been to 54 league grounds including Wembley old and new.

But then again, I’d take passion and atmosphere over comfortable niceties anyway.

Cant agree. Its a phenomenal ground. Is it as shiny as wembley? No. But thats a good thing.

fair enough, atmosphere can be good if the team are up for it but hate having to sit in fumes of weed smoking commies in the curva and filthy seats. Bit too expensive in other parts of the ground to justify going but in the curva it's cheap enough.

Incredible....power of money bring back AC pricks in europa league..such a shame for entire football movement, they are like gypsies, every time no money and then bring big name....it would be a pleasure take them in group stage and make san siro their grave.... curva is curva my friend, weed and all the stuff is inside from generation, so if u want to see the match seated and in peace go in other section, but curva is the heart of the stadium....AC MILAN MERDA

With Milan back in the tournament, and us hopefully getting Minsk in the next round, all being well, we can recreate Rochelle, Rochelle's journey in reverse

Did a tour there last year. It’s a dump. But in a good way. That tunnel is intimidating. I would like to have gotten on the wrong side of Gattuso and have to walk down there. Chilling concrete corridor.

Are you having a laugh?, ie. are you joking? Priestfield is a crap stadium, at least choose an old school one that is characteristically old school like Brentford or QPR!!
