UEFA rules state both teams have to be in the host city 24 hours before kick off, and each team must do a press conference at the stadium before 8pm the day before the game. Burnley have cancelled this press conference.

3-0 win to be awarded to Aberdeen.

Embarrassing. They should have been here yesterday to have a kick about and soak.up the city
I know they aren't used to this competition, but really. Questions have to be asked about how unorganised this lot are.

I mean, we can't help that there was an issue with the plane, but surely provisions are made in these situations?

Especially if we may get into trouble with UEFA.

Relax guys, there is no way a 3-0 win will be awarded.
We had issues a few years ago on a European trip when birds flew into plane angines and caused a six hour delay.
Sure we applied for and got an exemption owing ot the circumstances.
Also let me go on record as saying that no matter how much I want us to go through, I certainly don't want to under circumstances like these and I would be very surprised if my club didn't add support to Burnley

P.S No other media source in Scotland is reporting this as a possible 3-0 victory being awarded to us.

About the same distance as to Plymouth - (20 miles longer), Just jump in the coach right? Could understand if we were off to say... I don't know... Turkey or somewhere.

Still, can hardly blame the club there's a problem with the plane.

Apparently most of them have visited before and agreed it wasn’t worth a heading up there for any longer than necessary.

Herald saying press conference at 1100 so that seems unlikely at best.

This isn't a good show though. Not a good look.

I'm rather pleased the team didn't board a plane not fit for flying.
Why they couldn't just board the next plane is puzzling.

Oh dear..not the best start. Adds to the list of summer woes. Disabled section, shirts/sales/timings, transfer inactivity and now this. Not been the best of close seasons given the position we are in now.

I assume that all the kit and everything they need is to be taken on the plane too... Not easy to find a flight with 20 ~ 30 free seats in short notice.

Flight AEH691 (private charter) arriving in Aberdeen Airport in 5 minutes. My money is that the team are on it. Any Clarets in the airport, give them a rousing reception :D

4 hours late......

Crikey, hope my flight isn’t as delayed tomorrow.

A delayed charter flight? Knowing frugal BFC, the Douglas DC3 they chartered probably lost a propeller on warm up. Spare parts are getting scarce tha knose!

The scheduled passenger plane was going already though. By flying chartered we burn an additional tank of fuel, not hard to understand.

Apparently the club went for a German budget flight

Whilst waiting on the tarmac the team heard the Captain over the radio shouting "this fokker is not going to make it"

Or something like that
