Europa League ticketing myths
1. You need the points (physically impossible for some of the kids)
2 You'll get ID checked
Neither are true. Now we know.

I think it was clear from fans of Liverpool, United etc that it’s all bluster.

Re: Europa League ticketing myths
Anyone who wanted a ticket and who has been going long enough and is streetwise enough was always going to get one. And thats the way it should be.

Hang on a sec
1) Our ID check wasn't very through by any stretch of the imagination, but it was done
2) the bloke in front of us when we queued up to enter the ground got stopped, and ID checked with his ticket.
So yes, it does happen.

Re: Europa League ticketing myths
OK - you're right. I can't speak for everyone. I was in a group of about ten and we were in among loads of other people. The two stewards who were the first people you met didn't stop any of the 60 or 70 who went through at the same time as us. Didn't see anything happen except bag/ ticket checks where the police were. So, perhaps there's a tiny chance of getting checked.Lancasterclaret wrote:Hang on a sec

Re: Europa League ticketing myths
There were some ticketing checks in the area outside the first security barrier. I don’t know if the Aberdeen collection point required proof of identity. I wonder if, in the event of another away match, all tickets will be required to be collected in the town hosting the match?
Re: Europa League ticketing myths
I know of at least 10 lads who dont have anywhere near 6000-8000 loyalty points but still got a ticket. Its who you know and who can sort them

I've learnt my lesson so I won't claim my experience is the same as everyone else's... but, yes, we were ID checked at the hotel by the BFC staff doling out the tickets.ClaretPope wrote:There were some ticketing checks in the area outside the first security barrier. There was a 6/7 year old lad behind us. Fair play, his networking skills must be incredible for his age.

Couple of people in front of me both had there tickets n id's checked.
Re: Europa League ticketing myths
I don't understand how someone gets a ticket who has probably never been on a football game in their life? were you able to buy tickets with your Clarets number for other people who don't have enough points? or could you use someone elses number who has enough points?

Re: Europa League ticketing myths
People had 'spares'. I know of at least 3 who went up without tickets and managed to end up in the ground.

100% spot on! I’m glad those types that are desperate to have a dig weren’t there to ruin a great atmosphere and day!cricketfieldclarets wrote:Anyone who wanted a ticket and who has been going long enough and is streetwise enough was always going to get one. And thats the way it should be.

Just as an aside to the tickets...……….what about flags being banned from the stadium, or so we were told!
Must have been thousands of flags around the ground and that's not an exaggeration!
