Danny Drinkwater
Read that Chelsea are looking to offload him abroad. Could he not do a job for us as a loan player? Possibly with an option to purchase at the end of the season. Wages would be an issue but perhaps Chelsea could help out there till the end of the season as City have done with Joe Hart?

Re: Danny Drinkwater

Re: Danny Drinkwater
Seems like a Dyche type player. Maybe one to consider in Jan if he's still at Chelsea given our lack of cover in midfield

Re: Danny Drinkwater
The usual comeback with someone of his profile is, wages might be an issue. So think he'll be out of our league won't he?

Thats just for the Football League. He can still go abroad though as some transfer windows are still open.Hurstclaret wrote:My mistake. I thought the loan window was still open till end August!

Can't see us signing Drinkwater whilst he is at Chelsea. Would you take a 50 grand a week pay cut?

He could go out on loan to the championship or L1/L2.
Drinkwater is a good player made great by Vardy running on to all his direct passing.
Trouble is there's not a lot of Vardy's out there making them sort of runs.

Re: Danny Drinkwater
On paper him and Kante reuniting their title winning midfield partnership should have been a dream,in reality it's turned into a nightmare for Danny.

I can see more players buying into the team mentality and wanting to play for a club like us, especially if it works for Joe HartTop Claret wrote:Can't see us signing Drinkwater whilst he is at Chelsea. Would you take a 50 grand a week pay cut?

Re: Danny Drinkwater
I reading things wrong? Joe Hart is not on loan from City. So presumably not 'helping out with wages' either. Though i'll happily be corrected.

Yeah, he ****** up big style by joining them. The idiot. He could be playing Europa League football right now but instead he wasted his time at Leicester. Loser.BigChaCha wrote:We where linked with him just before he moved to Leicester.

Re: Danny Drinkwater
It has been widely reported that City gave him a payout to cover the difference in wages for the first 12 months of his contract with us - he falls to within our pay structure from the moment he signed - we have not broken that for himBurnleyPete wrote:I reading things wrong?
