Not our night, fair play to them. Proper sh8thousery from them at home but they did ok today.
We've had such a tough run compared to others so I think we should be proud bringing European football to Burley and getting so close to the groups. UTC

Decent performance against a hopeless side.

Bottle this performance. In the top 5 efforts since Dyche has been here. Unlucky. Many many positives to take from tonight.

WTF has Taylor done there???????

I’m not sure how much an unrewarded performance does for morale and confidence.4:20 wrote:Bottle this performance. In the top 5 efforts since Dyche has been here. Unlucky. Many many positives to take from tonight.
I hope you’re right.

Obviously disappointing to go out but that was an impressive performance. We were unlucky not to score more than we did and Olympiakos didn't deserve their goal having offered next to nothing in the game (don't blame them though). Hopefully we can take that performance and have confidence going forward in the PL.

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS v Greeksbearinggifts
Oh my word.
Where to start. That Vydra miss when he only needed to control. Then the cruel counter for their goal. We got a consolation but we could have been playing til Monday and still only have got another goal.
It has been an exasperating performance but full of positivity and spirit which has enstilled me with great confidence for the rest of the season.

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS v Greeksbearinggifts
Last year against West Ham we went Wood, Vokes and Barnes and mullerd them for 10 mins and equalised.
They were dreadful in the air and that might have worked. Far to often we still don't get the ball in.
Roll on sunday. well played lads.

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS v Greeksbearinggifts
Played well but not good enough, why good strikers that regularly score cost so much.
Definitely positives though but could have been so much better; 4 - 0 would not have flattered us
Obviously first leg cost us. Well at least we can concentrate on the league now

Thank God we are out. Sorry for all those Clarets who wanted to travel to more games but survival has to be the priority. Sounds like a better performance which is a positive.

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS v Greeksbearinggifts
Really good team performance with a real will to attack and try and win the game. One of those where it just wasn't our night I'm afraid. We looked confident, solid and created chances. We had a right go at them there and on another night we'd have gone through. Great effort that we should take confidence from. Well played and hard luck, such is life. UTC

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS v Greeksbearinggifts
You could see the disappointment on the faces of the Burnley players, they wanted to go through to the next round.
That disappointment may run into the league.
Winning games breeds confidence, hopefully we can take that performance through to Sunday and get our first win.

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS v Greeksbearinggifts
Played really well tonight, thought Mcniell played really well, should have been at least 2 goals up by half time. Still it was a really good performance , now back to the prem.

Great effort if only...... Surely Vydra should have been awarded a penalty and a minute before that their player sent off for the way he kicked Cork

One of those in the first half from Sam goes in, we win, no doubt.
Got to put those away, though.

Didn`t see the game, and just trying to get the gist from comments, but if your two best chances fall to your most experienced player, and he doesn`t convert, then there is little hope. The rest is just ifs, ands, and buts.

Absolutely, thank God. Let's play the survival game now, who knows, we could be the next Swansea, er or West Brom, er or Stoke.......FCBurnley wrote:Thank God we are out.
