Good stuff.
Good that it highlights only the one bad miss from Vokes which is as I saw it.

It had to be a positive report, despite the result, because it was a positive performance and one that has left me feeling a lot better than previous games

Excellent report. Although a bit at the bottom highlights so much that seems to be wrong with this tournament from what have I witnessed on our journey. Burnley 4 bookings Olympiakos 3 bookings. Ridiculous that they got away with so much in the first half. Similar to other refs in the tournament they seem to not book anyone first half and anything goes. Then as soon as 1 name goea in the book every offence suddenly becomes a yellow card regardless if it is the players 1st foul or 5th

Great report, thanks.

Great review and glad the atmosphere got a good mention, after the stupid thread saying the fans weren't good. The atmosphere was really excellent and very supportive of all the team for their efforts. Standing ovation for McNeil and brilliant at the end, when the team left the pitch. I was in the Bob Lord stand this time, and the cricket field stand and longside were very loud at times. Proud to be a claret.

The ref did seem to run out of patience and become card happy, that said Bardsley was a lucky boy not to see 2 yellows.Cleveleys_claret wrote:Excellent report. Re: REPORT: Clarets cruelly bow out of Europe
Despite exiting Europe we can take a lot of positives from last night,McNeil wasn't phased by the occasion,Vydra got a debut goal, midfield functioned much better with Jeff in his natural berth,we'll play far worse this season and win games, just one of those nights, the only criticism is our composure in front of goal, but if we carry on creating chances eventually the goals will happen, and a touch of luck if Sam's effort is an inch inside the post that sets up a frantic last half-hour alas it wasn't to be.

Re: REPORT: Clarets cruelly bow out of Europe
Think the damage was done last week. It's a big ask to have to win any game but to claw back any deficit in the process makes it extremely difficult. Just wonder how often overturning a scoreline actually happens though it did happen to us v Hamburg of course.
