He's somewhat the Bournemouth Defour the last couple seasons. Probably their most creative midfielder but beset by small injuries means he only plays half a season.

Always liked junior ...putting the crosses in. Wasn't so popular on here though.

I can’t remember the circumstances of his departure, whether we didn’t offer him a good enough contract or he was just allowed to leave, but either way I thought it was a mistake to allow him to go. Although he blew hot and cold, when he performed he was Premier League quality, as he has gone on to show. I was very disappointed when he went but he probably just didn’t fit in with the hard working disciplined ethos that Dyche wanted.

Just think it was wrong plan/wrong player - he didn’t fit the plan we had in place to get out of the Championship but would probably be a great addition for what we need now. He has never been a rubbish player and we haven’t gone on to massively miss him - just one of those things where his skills were more suited to a different club than us at that time.

He’s always had that touch of class and can change a game in an instant, the fact he didn’t do it every game annoyed some of our fans at the time I think but it’s easy to forget that most players don’t perform magic every game ..... and if they did they wouldn’t be playing at relegation from the Championship candidates Burnley (at the time).

To be fair, regarding Joey, I remember browsing the forums when he first signed for us. Newcastle and QPR fans thought he was great, which surprised me given his image in he national media.

The truth is he didn’t have a clue how to tackle and that’s no good in a Dyche team, also I tend to judge a player that plays well “away” from home.

I can distinctly remember his abject performance away to Birmingham City in the championship...he was hopeless at tracking back and getting a tackle in I thought then the time to off load had come.

To have a player that can score some spectacular goals now and then is a luxury that only a money bags club like Bournemouth can afford, so l think he’s probably found his home so good luck to him.

Yeah cos a wingers main job is to track back and put tackles in. If our forwards are scoring or creating goals I couldn't give a monkeys how many tackles they're putting in.

Well that’s your opinion but as I say it just isn’t enough in a SD team.

I don’t know what game you’re all watching but hardly any players make tackles any more, least of all our wide attackers. Obviously there’s a lot more to the defensive game than tackling and it’s more than reasonable to expect all 11 players to buy into that.

Stanislas was a decent player and would be a good option right now. But he wasn’t particularly at the time and Bournemouth seems a good fit.

Not chasing that ball into the corner was his defining moment. Instantly hooked and rightly so

Stanislas left in summer 2014. In the next two seasons, Boyd and Arfield missed only 9 games between them, and the year after Boyd missed only 3 while Arfield missed half a season but was replaced by Gudmondsson and Brady. Stanislas wouldn't have got his chance at Burnley; we've been well served with wingers.

Good player. Like all wingers he was hit and miss but overall I thought he had a bit extra.

He is decent, but nowhere near as good as his dad, Senior Stanislas.

I thought he turned down a new contract here when offered. He is one of those marmite type players and wasn't ever going to endear himself to some because he cross and shoot with some skill but couldn't run around like George Boyd

Only after watching the promotion season review did I notice how he was involved in so many goals to get us up.

After watching that I couldn’t understand why he left our team.

And that's exactly why Dyche will never go on to bigger/better things. He puts hard work over ability. Give me a player like Stanislas who can create something out of nothing in an instant over a Boyd or an Arfield any day.

Any attacking winger in the world would choose Eddie Howe's style over Dyche's.

As for the away game comment he seemed to perform well at Millwall for our two nil win.

Think if he had stayed he would not have developed in the same way as he has with Eddy. A real threat now when he plays. Right club and manager for him just like Scotty Arfield was at Burnley. We got out of Scotty what Huddersfield could not

If you think hard work has no place in a team do you think any player would have lasted in a side managed by Fergie?

Hard work was important to him and he expected all his players to chase lost causes. That's why he was so successful. They won so many matches late on and never gave up in games.

I know he’s a confident bloke, and England are missing that creative spark, but Waddle is far too old to he considered for the England squad.
