Parcel Force non delivery

Post by yorkyclaret » Mon Sep 17, 2018 10:55 pm

Anyone any ideas, I had a parcel posted to me last Monday, and I was given a tracking number, when I looked it up it said estimated delivery Tuesday 18th Sept. I thought 8 days was a bit much, but there was no great hurry for it so I forgot about until Saturday, when I thought I would check for updates. Much to my surprise it said delivery had been attempted on Wednesday and the Addressee advised to pick it up from the Post Office. Not true, I have had no advice or any other contact from them, anyway the Post Office is only 50 yards away, and I go in often enough to expect them to give it me without the paperwork. So off I went, had a search but nothing there. Phoned parcel force, just got the usual prerecorded options, went for arrange redelivery but it said redelivery not possible. Filled in an online contact for, no reply. Cost me £166 so not happy, sounds dodgy to me?

I was working in marketing for Parcel Force (they were a client) and they have staff who basically, can't be arsed. They'll stop off and take a few hours playing pool in the pub, then carry on a few hours later. True story.

So the reason why it's 8 days is because they aren't actually working when they should be. They also sign parcels off without attempting delivery. A very dodgy company - stay away.

We had a similar shenanigans with a Parcelforce delivery, they allegedly delivered it to a similar address to ours in Brierfield we live in Barrowford. The Mrs was in contact with Parcelforce customer services who were useless to say the least. Ultimately we had to get onto the supplier as it is their contract with Parcelforce. After a week or so, we got a delivery of the goods, not sure if this was the original that had allegedly gone to Brierfield, or whether the supplier took a hit on it.

Lost all faith in Parcelforce following this, but DPD were shocking too recently, and sent me a sodding biscuit with icing on as an apology, the bin got the biscuit :x

Get onto the supplier as soon as possible.

Get in touch with the people you purchased it from and ask for another item to be sent. It's their responsibility to deliver it, so they should be the ones complaining to Parcelforce.

Some courier firms are awful.

Last week yodel "attempted to deliver" a parcel to me. But "no-one was In", this being an office which was open and staffed at the time, the van didn't even pull up outside. This is not the first time with yodel.

We've also had to tell a supplier not to use ups if they want to deliver to us.

You didn't say how you paid for it? If it was via PayPal you are covered and will get your money back.Assuming item doesn't turn up of course.Re:parcelforce I have never had any issues with them personally after hundreds of parcels sent with them and Royal Mail..Seems like a few on here have though. But I would guess it's the sellers fault here and put a wrong no digit in on postcode perhaps.

Yes paid by paypal. Have contacted the seller on Sunday, she said she was away until Tuesday, so will send another message soon. it's a 1 off private ebay deal, so item can't be replaced.

Here in Herts my experience with Parcelforce is excellent. In know the driver and his arrival time is reasonably predictable.

It's a common thing for drivers to just say delivery attempted but wasn't.
It's quite a shocking industry to be honest, how they just throw packages around the van with no care is mind boggling.

Must not be a lot of money per delivery for them.

When I worked for Royal Mail in their 24/7 Control room we had many dealings with Parcelforce. The Network that they use for delivery is completely different to the one used by Royal Mail. There is a reason why we ended up calling them Parcelfarce.

Happy ending, it has just been delivered, seems it has spent the last 6 days at Padiham Post Office! Delivery man said he was off last week.

Parcelforce have done the same to me previously. Can’t be bothered to find the house so leave it at the post office.
