Old article I know but we don’t have the worst atmosphere surely. Man Utd 2nd is an actual joke

How do we improve our atmosphere? Something needs to be done about it.

I think a lot of our fair weather fans aren’t interested in seeing us play against the likes of Cardiff, Fulham or even teams like Everton. Our gate will have gone up with people who have come along but I can see it dropping a little too again in the next couple of years with these fans finding other hobbies on a Saturday afternoon.

They’ll all be back to see Liverpool/United etc...

For some people football is a chance to get right behind the team and sing and shout .... for others it’s just a chance to see some football and have a day out with the family without getting pumped up. The longer we just “stay” in the prem the less exciting it will be for a some people.

The Longside is certainly asleep.

The atmosphere is certainly as worse as it’s ever been , mainly due to ( completely inadvertently ) the CFS
It’s sucked the life out of the longside and concentrated 95%? Of the “ singers” so we end up with a rather bizzare occasionally rowdy little isolated corner . It’s not the fans in the CFS themselves ( on the contarary)

When your in the CFS it sounds really loud due to the acoustics but they’re so detached physically from the rest of the ground we rarely get the “rippling roar”affect down the JH which we still had a year or 2 back .

As the JM and BL have always been non singing stands, we’re in a situation where 7/8 of the ground is in near silence .
