Re: Absolutely disgraceful
And he scored once and assisted in one of the others. He also linked the play a bit better and he shouldn't be tired after 3 games on the trot

Re: Absolutely disgraceful
I can handle poor performances by the clarets, god knows I’ve seen enough over my 40 years as a fan. The thing that irks me most is Dyche summary of the game. If I hadn’t seen him with my own eyes I’d be wondering was he actually there. Just tell the truth we were poor today and I expect more from them,, would have been a better more honest assessment by the manager.
Changing the manager is a bit hysterical at this point but the Manager himself needs to change. And for all those remember where we were 30 years ago brigade even in them dark days in the old fourth division we put on more entertainment than that yesterday.
I got far more pleasure out of watching John Deary than I do watching Ashley Westwood.
or David Eyres rather than Aaron Lennon for example but we were a lot lower down the pyramid.
We just don’t get the crowd on the edge of their seats anymore. Going on the Turf is getting boring. Even against Bournemouth large passages of the game were played on the back foot with a back six.

Funny how people remember things differently and favourably with the passage of time.

No I'm not particularly enjoying it at the moment but I don't suppose the manager is either but booing won't help the situation!Stayingup wrote:I do get behind the team. Very much so. I didn't boo as it happens but I can understand some who did when the team has just been outplayed by the team bottom of the league.
Tell me are you enjoying the turgid football we are turning out this season?

Re: Absolutely disgraceful
For those who don't approve of the crowd booing when presented with such dire football, what would you suggest they do ?
Clap slowly ?
Throw their season tickets onto the pitch ?
Start singing Dyche out ?
Not buy anymore pies ?
Register their displeasure on boards such as this ?
Everyone is free to do as they please, and shouldn't be criticised for what course of action they take.
If the football was good, nobody would boo.

As a pick me up i went watching my 9 year old grandson playing football this morning. I can honestly say i enjoyed the kids game more than yesterday.
I can reccommend anyone doing the same, well not necessarily my grandson but it does make you fall in love with the game again. Oh and he scored 2.

I`m 45 and that performance against Huddersfield was an embarrassment, regardless of league. `Premier League baby`...pathetic stuff.Tribesmen wrote:Premier League baby , think where we were 30 years ago
Re: Absolutely disgraceful
Over the weekend I was talking to someone in the pub about how we were playing a team that by all accounts would have been seen as a relegation game. You remember the ones, it used to be Hull, Portsmouth, Fulham etc. the games where you knew we weren't going to beat many teams, so these where the ones we needed to win.
That's gone. Now it's just complaining because we played poorly against a team.
There doesn't seem to be fear that we will get relegated, but that the football style isn't great and won't get better.
I find it bizarre. Those October relegation battle games were awful, and the football at the minute isn't great, but I'd still take stopping up over exciting football that the moment.
Lots of United fans giving the 'I'd rather lose and play well' line, sorry if you lose, generally you didn't play well enough and the fans know it.

Re: Absolutely disgraceful
And if a film star or singer etc is born into poverty but attains great wealth and fame must they always think back to the days when they had nothing? No they don't, they think about the here and now and how to keep what they have. Small-time thinking gets you nothing. Little old Burnley doesn't cut it for me any more, I'm old enough to remember Cup Finals and Championships and playing in the European cup (and actually making an effort). Yes there were the dark days but they represent only a tiny fraction of our history, the old division 4 days do NOT define Burnley Football Club at all. I'm not 'grateful' we are in the top flight, we deserve to be there and we should be fighting tooth and nail to stay there, not feeling all grateful and humble that we have somehow stumbled on a rich man's feast and they have allowed us to stay for a while before they chuck us out.Tribesmen wrote:Premier League baby , think where we were 30 years ago
Re: Absolutely disgraceful
Southampton
Bournemouth
Big parts of Watford game
We played well.
Fulham
Wolves
Man United
Cardiff
Huddersfield
We have been truly awful.
We look like a side who at the moment could get a real thrashing when we play one of the big teams. Of course United are big but look at their other results and they could easily have put 6 past us on the Turf.
I am not going to use words like disgraceful....as nobody has done anything which justifies this kind of description.
I`d be lying if I said I was not concerned but I do have enough perspective to realise that this is nearer to the norm for the calibre of player we have at the club than finishing 7th. If people think another manager can get more out of this team than SD has done then I think they are deluded personally - because none of the players previous managers have got anything like what SD has got out of them.
If people want a new manager because they think that Garlick might release the purse strings then again they are sadly wrong...we would still come across exactly the same problems as we do when SD is trying to sign player.
SD will not be here for ever - he's always said that himself. If SD leaves this season or whenever if we have not been relegated already then my view is that we definitely will as I do not know what a new manager could do better than he has.
That does not make me a happy clapper by any means - far from it.....but I have always known that some day we will be relegated. Its inevitable - I don't want it to happen....but it will. Personally I will forever be grateful to Dyche for giving me the opportunity to see some of the best footballers in the world on the Turf and for me to visit some of the best teams and best stadiums in the world.....and even better in many of these games we have competed and even won games.
Right now its pretty horrible....but hey ho.

Re: Absolutely disgraceful
Remember losing 4-2 away to Palace under Eddie Howe? That was far worse than anything we witnessed on Saturday.
Re: Absolutely disgraceful
And talking of Palace, I doubt they think their style is any better than ours at the moment.
