This is getting tiresome. It's worrying our lack of scouting and links to other players apart from the usual suspects.

Re: Jay Rodriguez Sky
Here we go again. Burnley chasing the same old targets and getting nowhere.
About time the club sorted itself out and organised a proper scouting network. We really are an amateurish and disorganised outfit who always try to do everything on the cheap.
When it comes to recruitment Dyche is certainly not the man with his limited targets, someone else should step him to guide him, who has a track record

Jay Rodriguez would be inspirational to Burnley.

Why can't we sign and agree now and transfer automatically completes on the 1st January.
Why do we have to wait until then to actually make a formal offer?

Re: Jay Rodriguez Sky
Hahahahahahahaha if he’s number 1 target for January then we might as well tear the month out of the calendar before it even starts
Please god get that technical director in before then, and please god can he be someone to shut Dyche down with this one.

Possibly! Jay would improve the atmosphere at the Turf which in turn would help the whole team.Murger wrote:Will he stop us conceding 4 goals a game?

Re: Jay Rodriguez Sky
Don't think Roderiguiz would have made much difference playing up front in our present set up. His service would have been limited and he would have spent most of the time with his hands on his hips, waiting for a pass that would never come.
Strickers are not required at Burnley, we play so deep that they are completely isolated

He would improve ball retention and give us some pace in behind. He may not be lightening quick..but he's quicker than our other forwards.Murger wrote:Will he stop us conceding 4 goals a game?

Re: Jay Rodriguez Sky
Oh dear West Brom will be loving this, it gives them adequate time to put an astronomical figure on his head knowing they can play games with us. I was really hoping we might have identified some new targets and be prepared to pay the going rate. To be honest I don't think we'll sign anyone, clubs are often reluctant to let players leave in January, (unless ridiculous offers come in) on top of that the smaller clubs like us end up picking the bones.
Re: Jay Rodriguez Sky
Younger, better and probably less expensive signing from overseas v bloke who nobody would want if he wasn’t good for us in 2011-12, more like!IanMcL wrote:Exceptional player.

I’ve heard he’ll never sign for Burnley now after they messed him about over the summer, putting him in an uncomfortable position with his club.

We don't retain the ball, we just hoof it. So whether we have Jay or Messi, nowt will change.Jakubs Tash wrote:He would improve ball retention and give us some pace in behind. He may not be lightening quick..but he's quicker than our other forwards.

Re: Jay Rodriguez Sky
Inevitable, Dawson as well no doubt.
We have strikers who can score goals - get some midfielders who can supply them and retain possession, and a pair of full backs who can cross a ball consistently.

Re: Jay Rodriguez Sky
Would be a good signing IMHO
He did well for WBA last season in a struggling team and started well for them this season.
Our strikers are struggling this year - Wood in particular. If WBA would entertain a swap with Wood i’d be happy with that.
Oh and btw my opinion has got f all to do with him being local - big fat Duggy who goes in the Big Window every day is local - i’ve never suggested signing him !

Let's bring him back even though he couldn't wait to leave and is bang average.Lets sign this lot as well.We would get hammered every game but what an atmosphere there would be.Fulton, Chaplow,Matty James,Liam Grimshaw,Pugh.Lets also get Payton,Jimmy Anderson and Alistair Campbell in team

Re: Jay Rodriguez Sky
I think we mix it up. If you think we just boot it one end to the other you must be amazed rather than disappointed we had 63% accurate pass rate at weekend, that is some effort that.
Re: Jay Rodriguez Sky
Worrying thing is Matty James and Marc Pugh would be met with delight on here.Parkvilla wrote:Let's bring him back even though he couldn't wait to leave and is bang average.Lets sign this lot as well.We would get hammered every game but what an atmosphere there would be.Fulton, Chaplow,Matty James,Liam Grimshaw,Pugh.Lets also get Payton,Jimmy Anderson and Alistair Campbell in team

Why things are currently going there's a chance we may be switching places with WBA at end of season anyway

And we already have 4 strikers
The No1 priority should be a holding midfielder who can protect the back 4 a lot better and have the strength to help us retain the ball better in the middle of the park. And no I dont know who but they are out there

Lazy story from Sky.
Disappointing but not unexpected that people on here will take press rumours as gospel and use it as an excuse to slag off the club's ambitions.
