Village name offends vegans
I can see why as well.
Maybe it should be called cotton. Providing no African Americans from the 1700s visit any time soon...

I think perhaps PETA ought to launch a national campaign to allow sheep to keep their woolly jumpers on, year after year, until they are far too overheated and scarcely able to move - as well as being fly-blown. I doubt the sheep would be as keen.
Re: Village name offends vegans
A PETA representative was on the the news yesterday morning...the woman talked so much crap she came across as mentally ill.

It is just a bit of a publicity stunt. However the woman from PETA said that it was a creative and fun way to reach the public with the facts. But the fact is that the village name is derived from the old word for Well.

For years we regularly drove through a village near Mold in North Wales which the Missus and I often discussed as being an apt place for us to live: Loggerheads.

This is what happens when you give nutters enough rope. A sheep doesn’t die when it gives wool; it dies when it gives a sheepskin. Wankers.
