May I add that Cardiff also have a good manager (no matter what we think of him)
Re: We won’t go down
But it could also be said that our loyalty to managers has allowed us to have more success that many clubs. 7th is beyond the reach of all but a few clubs in football unless they have great wealth.Blackrod wrote:To some further loyalty to the man seems more important than the football club.
It's a difficult balancing act.

Re: We won’t go down
Depends how January goes. If we mess about and not sign what's needed then we'll go down. If we try to do it on the cheap or with loans we'll go down. Something needs to change drastically.
At the moment we are going down. Let's hope somebody sorts things out ASAP.

Makes it worse, Warnock doing us as he did at the very beginning in the 80s at ScarboroughBelgianclaret wrote:May I add that Cardiff also have a good manager (no matter what we think of him)

If you're expecting a spending spree in January WMC,i wouldn't hold your breath i'm afraid it's not our style.WestMidsClaret wrote:Depends how January goes. The board have already budgeted for relegation so won't chase big money targets in this window.

I know mate but one can hope. I can see both points of view but to me staying in the Prem outweighs being relegated.tiger76 wrote:If you're expecting a spending spree in January WMC,i wouldn't hold your breath i'm afraid it's not our style.

Re: We won’t go down
Yet in the Championship we will overspend our income, until we are bust
Re: We won’t go down
Certainly a policy of accepting relegation now, careful with the cash in January, regroup and get promotion in 2019-20. BUT most teams stay down when relegated and on this occasion we will go down a worse team than last time as team spirit seems to have evaporated.
Unless we get our mojo back we are down

Thank God none of the faint-of-pulse depressives on here has anything to do with running the club.

Re: We won’t go down
The difference this time in the event of relegation is we have a much higher wage bill even with relegation clauses taken into account,an ageing squad most of who have had their best days, and doubts over the management and strategy of the club.WestMidsClaret wrote:I know mate but one can hope. Can anyone really imagine Steven Defour or Joe Hart plying their trade in the Championship, and they will be our highest earners, there is a danger we drop and are stuck with ageing workhorses on good money that we can't move on even if we desired.
This is what happens when you don't invest in developing exciting talent, and value experience over ability.

"Personally I think Fulham look better than bottom"
They sure look better than mine. It's got a crack in it.

Re: We won’t go down
I zm sure there will be relegation clauses in all contracts.
The Hart situation has been messy and will become messier.
