Football I'm starting to warm to it.. There's some good stuff being played and even the rugby's a good watch.... It's either that or I can't be ar$ed getting out of the chair after Motd. On a serious note it seems to have improved massively.

Yes the first and third along with la crosse were my preferred choices...... But watching women's football tonight there was some good stuff played...and the female rugby players could show our nancy boy footballers how to deal with being clattered.

Burnley Ladies look nailed on for a second promotion in two years. It doesn't seem to matter that they're ladies , it still warms the heart.
As for the ladies egg chuckers, they make some premier league footballers look like powderpuffs.

I got into women's cricket a few years ago when taking my (grown up) daughter to Lords for an England v Rest of World game and become increasingly interested. The 50 over WC final Eng v India at Lords was a memorable day out too. I have two fairly local teams in the (ladies T20) Kia Super League (Surrey & Hants) & seen a few games over the past couple of years. The fielding is improving from a poor base but the batting/strokeplay can be good and inventive and some fairly skillful bowling.

Better still is women's rugby, seen a few internationals live when tagged onto men's international games + watched the 6N & WC games on tv. There's more trying to evade tackles/find space that men's rugby where there's more of a tendency to run through people/bosh it up (though you see some relatively big tackles in Ladies' games too).

I can't get to grips with women's footy though; it's such a poor comparison to the men's game & nothing to set it apart from a fairly low level men's game.

Not having a go at all here, but don't make the comparison. As that lass from Burnley who played for England was saying, it's a different sport. If you watch expecting to see men's football, you'll inevitably be disappointed.

But as a participation sport it's fantastic - and it's saved me from having to watch my daughter play netball so I'm all for it. It's getting huge at junior levels now, and if it gets girls out and taking part in something healthy it can't be a bad thing.

Grand-daughter plays in goal for England under 19's Lacrosse squad.... we went to Edinburgh last year to watch her play on the Home Internationals (England won every match they played) hopefully if she can stay injury free we are hoping to go to the world cup in Canada this summer.

Helluva game to watch fast and exciting....
