My mobile hangs up after 2 hours, regardless. I assume it's for reasons such as this. Not sure if it's a mobile feature or Three Mobile.Bop wrote:0898121153?

Someone posted that BFS has ruled out going for Brady - yet they are still second favourite.

Norwich may put deal on hold till deadline day as they want a LB in. Brady MAY play tomorrow for Norwich, But deal will go ahead.

Maybe BFS is trying to get the odds on Palace to lengthen before putting bet on and then putting a bid in that blows us out of the water...

Have we got any LBs on here who will turn out for Norwich this w/end? I'd offer, but at 63 I'm not sure I'd pass their medical.JPS71 wrote:Jason O'Connor

Somehow I can't see it - if Brady is playing tomorrow, he won't be coming to Burnley, I believe that.

This was years ago Frank. Sure it wouldn't happen now. If Norwich are putting it on hold, then we need to try and sign somebody else instead. If we manage to get someone else, we can then be the club to pull the plug.

Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
Where has it been confirmed that we have actually made a bid and that a bid has been accepted by Norwich?
If Brady turns out for Norwich then he will likely see out the season with them especially if they cannot source a replacement left sided player.
Then 4 becomes 2.

Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
Suspect Sunderland may come back in for him now they have lost their most important LB.
We need to somehow put enough pressure on Norwich to get this over the line today.

Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
Sad to say I concur, we cannot afford for Norwich to mess us about, it's deadline on Monday as far as I am concerned because of the match on Tuesday. We need a winger, sorry to say but we need to move on if that is how they are deciding to play this - the risk is too great if Brady was to get injured/Norwich were to change their mind and we had nothing to fall back on.FactualFrank wrote:If Norwich are putting it on hold, then we need to try and sign somebody else instead. Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
On the betting front I note that none of the bookies are quoting odds for Brady still to be at Norwich after the window closes.
Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
Brady should refuse to play for them and force the deal through like others do these days.

We may or may not lose him to someone else BUT I really can't see him going to Sunderland. No money there, almost certs to go down, wouldn't be a good move for Brady for yet another relegation on his CV. I do fear we're going to be messed around though...

Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
He was in Burnley yesterday. That in it's own right suggests he wants to come, and it is Norwich who are taking the proverbial.
They have no other LB, and looks like they need the money from us to get another in. The difficulty is that they know we are not likely to walk away.

Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
All smoke and mirrors.
Norwich leak that they're going to play him to put the pressure on Burnley to up their bid to get the deal done. BFC just now need to leak that they're bidding for other left wingers (again a la Snodgrass) to put the ball back in Norwich's court.
I agree if he plays tomorrow, it would seem unlikely that he's coming to BFC. They'd be stupid to risk over £10 million just for the sake of they couldn't find another player to play at LB tomorrow, unless they were planning on keeping him.

Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
Calm down everybody.
For Norwich to play Brady would be idiotic.
If any deal to bring in a new left back is solely reliant on the sale of Brady then surely you complete that deal ASAP whether or not you have that player signed.
Look at it this way, Brady plays tomorrow, gets injured, Norwich have no left back and no money to replace him with.
At this late stage I am sure Norwich will be thinking they can manage one game, tomorrow, without Brady for the long term good.

Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
If he wants the move he should refuse to play for them. It's a million ppund pay day for him can't see him wanting to miss it. It will be Norwich being the pain in the ass here!
Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
Don`t believe Norwich would be that stupid to risk the whole deal collapsing - and I hope we would not be that stupid to allow him to play tomorrow and risk injury.
Brady can play left back but he is not a left back - they must have someone in their squad who can play left back for one game.
I know as fans we do not see all the intricacies of the deal but this issue is pretty black and white to me
....Brady can`t play tomorrow or the deal is off (you bunch of 7 fingered sister sh@gging in-breds !!) - maybe leave off the last bit and show a bit of class

Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
If there is any hint of a delay that risks the deal then surely we have learnt from the lansbury saga and other deals that have been pulled at the 11th hour.
Other deals must be explored now. If we are constantly looking as Dyche says then we must have numerous targets. Not ideal if we can't land one of our main targets but it would be better than being left high and dry.

I think I'd be on the phone to Norwich saying that our bid is either accepted now or it isn't.
Far, far from ideal, but it does give us another 48 hours to try to source other players who might want to come.

"Far, far from ideal, but it does give us another 48 hours to try to source other players who might want to come."
Probably a sensible approach now, especially if Norwich are digging their heels in.
You have to wonder just how much Brady really wants the move. A fundamental mistake many are making on this thread is that he will miss out on a 'pay-rise' or a 'million pound pay day', both of which are unlikely to be true. Norwich City's wage bill dwarfs ours and their senior pro's will be earning more than ours , so more likely he prefers the prospect of playing PL football for a while with us.

Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
Seems to be a lot of folk hanging onto Jason O'Connors every tweet without the foggiest idea who he is and how he'd know so much about Irish footballers.
He appears to be employed as a video analyst for the Professional Football Scouts Association. I'm not sure having a junior job within the PFSA would provide an inside track in itself (nor simply being Irish).
Trawling back through his tweets, I'm not sure he's said a great deal that couldn't be interpreted by reading media articles. There's a fair bit of hedging his bets going on too.

And to prove the point, I posted this on Wednesday AM on the Snodgrass thread without the benefit of inside info:
It took O'Connor until last night to suggest our Snodgrass bid may have been a ruse.agreenwood wrote:I'm confident that Snodgrass WON'T be signing. He'll go to another Prem club.
It'll be part of the Brady-related shenanigans. Us and Hull probably doing each other amurial favour to put pressure on elsewhere.

Re: Robbie Brady confirmed (speculation)
I thought we'd had a bid accepted. Surely it's then a case of agreeing terms with Brady and him signing on the dotted line? If Norwich are indeed messing us about waiting until the last day then that suggests to me that they're not completely confident that they'll bring in the left back that they need.
As such, I'd move on to another target. We have had too much experience of this from clubs in recent transfer windows (Forest and West Brom coming to mind). I'd give them until the end of the day with the ultimatum that we'll pull out if the move isn't sanctioned.
All of this is purely speculation though - it's hard to know what to believe.

Not so easy to pull out if you don't have a plan B, C or even D.
The truth is nobody knows what's going on. It is what it is.
